Abstract: A novel Schiff base ligand, H2L, 2-{(2-[(2-hydroxy-naphthalen-1-ylmethylene)amino]-6-oxo-1H-purine-9-yl)methoxy}ethyl-2-amino-3-methylbutanoate derived from antiviral valacyclovir has been prepared(HNAPB). The nano-sized Cr(III), Mn(II), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II) and Zn(II) of the ligand, HNAPB (H2L), were synthesized by different methods.The nano-sized crystalline phases for the complexes particles were indicated by XRD patterns and supported by TEM images. Characterization of the ligand and its complexes were performed using elemental analysis, IR, UV-Vis, 1HNMR, ESR, Mass, TGA, conductivity and magnetic susceptibility measurements..The associated water and/or EtOH molecules with the complexes were confirmed by TGA data. The geometrical structures of complexes under investigation were confirmed by the resultsof UV-Vis, ESR spectra ' magnetic.....

Abstract: The use of any plant as medicine is attributed to the presence of phytochemicals which are responsible for the biological activities. Pterocarpussantalinoides is a medicinal plant belonging to the family fabaceae. The stem bark extracts of the plant were evaluated for their phytochemical constituents; tested for antimicrobial activity (with Augmentin as standard) by the agar diffusion method and evaluated for their antioxidant potential by DPPH free radical scavenging and H2O2 scavenging activities. Results of the phytochemical analysis revealed the presence of flavonoids, phlobatannins, tannins, glycoside, saponins, alkaloids and terpenoids in all the three extracts (ethanol, hexane, and ethyl acetate extracts); while the hexane and ethyl acetate extracts contain in addition to these, steroids. Anthraquinone was however only present in the hexane extract. Test organisms for antidiarrheal activities include Salmonella typhi, Escherichia coli, Campylobacter, and Staphylococcus.....

Abstract: The work is based on the absorptive property of composite material. Composites have wide applications in construction, transport, food packaging, marine technology, automobile, sports equipments and medical purposes. It was intended to prepare the composites and characterized for physical behavior. The two different types of natural fibers such as areca leaf and eupatorium fibers were introduced into the vinyl ester matrix. In various percentages of weight the materials were mixed together. The carbon nanotube has the property to resist the water absorption. On this basis it was intended to introduce the carbon nanotube in micro quantities. The prepared composites are subjected to the sea water to investigate absorption capacity of the composite materials. The results showed that, the increase in the amount of natural fibers increased the rate of absorption with time and then it is saturated. Further it was compared with one of the non hybrid composite for the better studies.

Abstract: In this study, it was possible to optimize the hydrometallurgical extraction conditions of tin from cassiterite ore in Kalima (DR Congo) by an alkaline smelting process with an equimassic mixture of NaOH and KOH. This ore was characterized by a 68.58% tin content in a siliceous gangue incorporating other elements such as iron, calcium, potassium and titanium. Smelting was carried out at an ore/(NaOH+KOH) ratio of 1/5 in a molten mixture at 350°C for 90 minutes to form soluble M2SnO3 (S)(M = Na or K) and also 𝑀8𝑆𝑛𝑆𝑖6𝑂18 ( 𝑆)insoluble in water.
