Abstract: Introduction: Uric acid is the most abundant of antioxidant in plasma.Hyperuricemia associated withblood glucose reflects the role of hyperglycemia in the production of oxidative stress in the Type II DM patients.Material and Methods:Total 150 subjects were studied and divided into three groups, depending upon their glycosylated hemoglobin level:-Group 1 (Normal subjects): 50 patients with HbA1c level <6%, Group 2 (Well controlled diabetes): 50 patients with HbA1c level 6-8% and Group 3 (Poorly controlled diabetes): 50 patients with HbA1c level >8%.Serum uric acid levels were measured using Uricase-PAP Method. Results: High uric acid levels were found in poorly controlled group (7.12±0.57), compared to normal (1.96±0.52) and well controlled group (4.71±0.29), which is statistically........

Abstract: Present study attempted to focus on the existence of coliform, fecal contamination and others pathogenic microorganisms in tap water as well as the effects of halo-tab plus as disinfectant to reduce the growth of water born microorganisms. Total 11 tap water samples are collected from different household and restaurant in Dhaka city Bangladesh. Elevated number of fecal coliforms, Klebsiellaspp., Salmonella spp., Shigellaspp., Vibrio spp. and Pseudomonas spp. was monitored among the tap water. The heterotrophic bacteria was present within the range of 102 to 108cfu/ml. Most of the isolates were found to be resistant against ampicillin (10 μg),.........

Abstract: Background: - Thyroid function tests which include TSH, free and total T3, T4, are the gold standard biochemical tests till date in the diagnosis of Thyroid disorders. But variations have been observed in the values due to the influence of different drugs and other associated conditions such as Heparin, Amiodarone, Phenylbutazone, Salicylates, etc. Another topic of debate is the reference range of TSH as it has feedback regulation with T3, T4 values. Cystatin C is a potent cysteine protease inhibitor involved in the catabolism of proteins. Serum concentration of Cystatin C is independent of age, body weight, gender and are not influenced by inflammatory, rheumatologic conditions........

Abstract: Aim: Study of lipid profile and uric acid in gestational hypertension and with normotensive pregnant mothers. Material & methods: A cross-sectional study on gestational hypertension and normotensive pregnant mothers as a control group attending at out-patient department in Burdwan Medical College & Hospital. Results: Serum uric acid was significantly elevated in study group & total Cholesterol,Low density lipoprotein (LDL),Very low density lipoprotein( VLDL),Triglycerides and High density lipoprotein (HDL) levels were significantly lower in study groups in comparison to control groups. The mean serum lipid and uric acid concentration of the study and control groups were compared using paired t test. Significance was set at P < 0.05 .Correlations between various lipid fractions, uric.......

Abstract: In this work, the effects of the CM-95 Solution on nitrogen metabolism in Balb / c mice are evaluated. An experiment is developed, in conditions of not fasting and the other in fasting conditions. In both cases, the animals were inoculated with the CM-95 Solution orally and 24 hours later, different parameters of nitrogen metabolism in plasma, urine and faeces were determined in both nutritional conditions. The lowest values were recorded in fasting. It was demonstrated that Solution CM-95 varied in a general way the behavior of the nitrogen metabolism maintaining an adequate balance between the processes of synthesis and degradation, where the processes of energy production could be favored. The levels recorded do not imply metabolic damage by the magnetically treated solution for liver and kidney function compromised with these processes. These results allowed us to evaluate the effects of the CM-95 Solution on nitrogen metabolism in Balb / c mice.

Abstract: Exosomes are 40~120 nm extracellular vesicles released from a multitude of cell types, and widely exist in various body fluids. Exosomes can conveyseveral types of important biological functional molecules, as well as participate in diverse cellular functions.Exosomes had been foundin some in vitro studies of cultured cancer cells, and exosome release was later reported to be involved in various cancer types. The close relationship between exosomes and cancer provides a new strategy for the effective treatment of cancer. However, much of the information about new research advances in exosomes has been obtained from heterogeneous or impure exosomes..............

Abstract: The term preeclampsia describes the development of hypertension >140/90 mmHg with proteinuria ≥ 300mg/24h after 20th week, of gestation. This disorder is unique to human pregnancy in which numerous genetic immunological and environmental factors interact. Therefore, it is a leading cause of maternal and fetal morbidity and mortality throughout the world and still is one of the most complex problem in obstetrics (2). It has long been recognized that maternal thyroid hormone excess or deficiency can influence maternal and fetal outcome at all stages of pregnancy. Although, pregnancy is usually associated with very mild hyperthyroxinemia, women complicated with..........

Abstract: MI is almost always due to formation of occlusive thrombosis at the site of rupture or erosion of an atheroscleromatus plaque in coronary artery . India is experiencing an alarming increase in heart diseases . CVD accounted for 32% of all deaths in 2000 and WHO estimates that 60% of worlds cardiac patients will be Indians by 2020 with CHD being the dominant form of CVD in India (1) . There is a considerable increase in prevalence of CHD in urban areas in India during the last decade . The pooled estimates that studies carried out in 1990's upto 2002 shows the prevalent rate of CHD in urban areas as 6.4% and 2.5% in rural areas . In urban areas the pooled estimate was 6.1% for males and 6.7% for females (2) . In rural areas the estimate was 2.1% for males and 2.7% for............

Abstract: Among the abiotic stresses, heat stress is continuously posing great challenges before the scientific community around the world by adversely affecting the growth and development of the crop plants. Productivity of rice, one of the world's most essential cereals, is threatened by high temperature stress deepened by climate change. It is imperative to develop heat stress tolerant verities in rice to counter the high temperature stress and to maintain and enhancement in the productivity of rice to feed the expected 9 billion populations by 2050. At early growth and developmental stages of plants thescreening based on physiological parameters plays a pivotal role in identifying heat tolerant varieties. With.......
