Abstract: This study was conducted to examine the use of language learning strategies (LLSs) by Moroccan university EFL Science students in relation to gender and motivation. The sample consists of sixty students enrolled in their second year at the Faculty of Sciences, Mohammed V University – Rabat. To collect the data, the Strategy Inventory for Language Learning (SILL) developed by Rebecca Oxford (1989) was adapted to the Moroccan EFL context. The motivation questionnaire was developed based on different sources (Gardner's (2004) AMTB, Pintrich's (1991) MSLQ and Schmidt and Wattanabe, 2001). The two questionnaires were tested for reliability and validity. Descriptive statistics, an Independent Samples T-test and Pearson Correlation were selected to analyze the data. The results demonstrated that Moroccan university EFL Science students used LLSs at a medium level of 3.09. Male and female students did not exhibit any significant differences on the six categories of strategies except for compensation strategies. However, Moroccan university EFL Science students exhibited moderate correlations on the relationship between motivation and LLS.

Abstract: Reading is a complex cognitive process of decoding symbols in order to construct or derive meaning (reading comprehension). It is a means of language acquisition, of communication, and of sharing information and ideas. Like all language, it is a complex interaction between the text and the reader which is shaped by the reader's prior knowledge, experiences, attitude, and language community which is culturally and socially situated. The reading process requires continuous practice, development, and refinement. Reading skills refer to the specific abilities that enable a person to read with independence and interact with the message. Students at the university do a lot of reading unlike in secondary school. Some tips to help in having good reading skills are active reading and styles of reading. This study examines the role of computers having advantages like Computer software is interactive, Computer software uses scientifically-assisted educational research, Computer software creates a "real" learning development, The interactive potential of Computer Assisted Learning, Power, Versatility. It has some disadvantages like effective demands, logistics and Methodological Limitations.

Abstract: Effective teachers are the key to maintain quality in education. Effective teachers set high expectations and educational aspiration for the students and communicate them directly to the students. They challenge and inspire pupils, expecting the most from them, so as to extend their knowledge and understanding. He or she is always concerned with lesson clarity, instructional variety, task orientation, engagement in the learning process, and student success. Secondary level of education is an important stage of human resource development as well as formal educational ladder. Teachers in this stage has a specific role to play to make a student responsible, dynamic, skilled, resourceful, honest and enterprising citizen of strong good moral character and conduct. So that the higher educational institutions will get adequate inputs to be transferred to educated, knowledgeable and skilled output. In addition, to maintain quality in education and implement different Government schemes successfully in secondary level of education effective teachers are must. Keeping in view on all these, the present study was conducted to study the teacher effectiveness with special reference to secondary teachers of Dibrugarh district of Assam. The study reveal that the Graduate and Post-Graduate secondary teachers of Dibrugarh district of Assam do not differ significantly with reference to their teacher effectiveness.

Abstract: The 9/11 events had a profound impact on security dynamics of South Asia. When the US lead collation search for Osama Bin Laden was being conducted in Afghanistan. Pakistan as the neighbor of Afghanistan naturally suffered along with the smaller states of South Asia in the multi dimension ways impacting the ongoing insurgencies fight for the self determination struggle for autonomy their economies, trade, foreign investment and their perception towards United States Terrorism and its political consequences have directly and visibly effected interstates relations in South Asia and have also led to destabilization in the region.

Abstract: This article discusses a survey on the learning styles of Arabic Language students at the Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), Malacca Campus based on the four learning styles as proposed by Honey and Mumford, namely Activist, Theorist, Reflector and Pragmatist. The objective of this study is to investigate whether or not a similarity or significant difference exists in the learning styles of respondents between gender and the academic program. Some 175 respondents participated in this survey with the descriptive statistical analysis and inference done using data from questionnaires. Data was analyzed using the IBM SPSS 20 software, and t-test of two independent samples was applied for inferential statistics. Results have shown that there was no significant difference in the learning styles between genders. This survey also found that there was no significant difference between students of Business Studies Diploma program and those of the Diploma in Hospitality and Tourism Studies.

Abstract: The present study surveyed knowledge and attitudes toward mental disorders among Nagas. The sample comprised of 500 adults above 21 years of age and included both males (n = 226) and females (n = 272). The distribution of the 500 participants according to their educational qualification was – up to Middle School (n = 136); up to High School (n = 164); Graduate and above (n = 198). A case vignette of schizophrenia was used and participants were asked to respond to a questionnaire based on the vignette. Percentage frequencies of responses were worked out for every item on the questionnaire for analysis. A great majority could recognize a mental health problem in the case vignette but used more general terms such as psychological problem/ mental problem/ mental illness. Majority attributed the problem to psychosocial factors and chose a psychiatrist/psychologist over other options. However, a considerable number of participants reported evil spirit possession as the cause of mental disorders and preferred seeking for divine intervention as a treatment mode. Chi-square test was applied to see the relationship of educational level with attitudes toward mental disorders. Results showed significant differences in attitudes when compared by educational level.

Abstract: It is all about the 20s. Talking of G20 and the Vision 20:2020, is an interesting aspect of economics that identified 20 as that element that matters in development and Gross Domestic Product (GDP) growth in these cases. It is a natural law of 20s that appears at a global level and at a Nigerian level which interestingly, is an issue that this article tries to analyse. A strong, sustainable and balanced growth, remains the top priority of the G20 as it leads to higher jobs creation and increases the welfare of people across the world. The National Implementation Plan for Nigeria Vision 20:2020 on the other hand, has four thematic areas namely: Physical Infrastructure; Productive Sectors; Human Capital Development and Knowledge-based economy. Part one of this work is the introduction. Part two, the G20. Part three is the vision 20:2020. The part four is the relevance of G20 and vision 20:2020 on the Nigeria economy. While part five forms our summary and conclusion.

Abstract: The Physical education and sports in schools contributes not only to the first good fitness and good health of students, but also helps young to achieve performance and better understand physical activity, with positive impact throughout life. In addition, physical education provides knowledge and transferable skills such as teamwork, fair play, respect grows, the body and social awareness, and provides general understanding of the "rules" that students can easily use in other school subjects or situations of life. Due to its many benefits, the promotion of physical activity has been increased at International level attention. Our research aims to probe the real situation of the matter within the school system from the time allocated to the matter at the law and above the level of everyday practice. 74 teachers of both sexes participated in this study. 48 male teachers with mean age (21, 5±8, 8), and 26 female teachers (mean age: 17±10, 9).We used two investigative tools. First an analysis of the laws governing the organization of teaching matters and school time to prep school and colleges (laws, decrees and ministerial notes).Second, a quantitative and qualitative analysis of schedules of a sample of teachers for two consecutive years (2007/2008 and 2008/2009). Our results chow a low use of the morning session in the teaching of EPS at the beginning and the weekend (Monday and Saturday) with a rate of (17%) compared to the average. Moreover, the peak hours during the day are located in the middle of the morning sessions (9am to 11am) and afternoon (15h to 17h). Abstract: The purpose of this study was to explore the extent at which career guidance and counselling isprovided to exceptional pupils in Masvingo District of Zimbabwe. It is a fact that exceptional children have been marginalized in a wide variety of educational service provision. The study therefore sought to explore whether exceptional children are also not being marginalized in the provision of career services as much as they have been marginalized in other areas. The research employed qualitative exploratory survey research design. The target population for this study included all special schools and schools with resource units in Masvingo District, together with officers from Schools Psychological Services and Special Needs Education Masvingo Provincial Office. The research indicated that service providers have generally low expectations on the career development of exceptional children. As a result of these low expectations, it was found out that career transition planning and assistance for special children is minimal at the very least. Abstract: One major characteristic of the artistry of Ahmadou Kourouma as a renowned African novelist is his linguistic dexterity. In an attempt to realise the didactic function of literary works, Kourouma creates rare harmony between fiction and reality through a language that is generally representative of the socio-cultural background of the characters and the thematic orientation of his novels. Kourouma's characters are therefore always equipped with a language that reflects the socio-cultural and historical realities of the setting in which they evolve in the novels.

Abstract: A. Encyclopedias are indicators of maturity in the fields of belonging. Idea is illustrated undoubtedly by the exceptional construction: Donsbach, W. (2008)(Ed.), "The International Encyclopedia of Communication". 12 volums. Oxford, UK, and Malden, MA: Wiley-Blackwell . The paper is approved by the International Communication Association (ICA). It is published jointly by Blackwell and ICA. The 12 volumes, summarizing 6128 pages, consist of 1339 articles. These include notions, concepts and theories, distributed in 29 sections, such as: interpersonal communication, intercultural and intergroup communication, media communication, communication theory and philosophy, communication and technology, general communication & media studies etc. The 29 pillars include both pure communication areas, and fields that have communicational "issues". Thus, the work becomes interdisciplinary.

Abstract: The complementary role which New Media has come to play has increased the level of complexity of Nigerian Politics. This can be attributed to the increase in information flow, especially at the informal level which has bridged the hitherto wide informational gap between government and the governed. This is better appreciated considering Nigeria's political history which is dotted with several military incursions into governance and the attendant emasculation of all informational avenues including the Press. This paper examines the theoretical basis for New Media, using a descriptive analytical method. It also tries to rationalize the need for new media in a democracy and the inherent challenges using Nigeria's experience. However, the paper concluded that the pervasive nature of poverty as experienced in the country as well as the weak regulatory framework that should drive access and content generation, has being a major clog in the wheel of a robust New Media penetration in Nigeria. This regrettably is the fate of most developing and underdeveloped polities.
