Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Akshay A. Dessai || Clarence Fernandes || Jason M. B. Fernandes || Rohit B. Desai |
Abstract: The process of 3D printing, which is also called as Additive Manufacturing (AM) has been applied in different fields such as aerospace, automotive, biomedical, and energy industries. In recent years, FDM technology (Fused Deposition Modeling) has become one of the most widely-used rapid prototyping methods for various types of applications. This method is based on fused fibre material deposition on a drop-down platform, which offers the opportunity to design and introduce new materials, including composites. The material most commonly used in FDM is ABS, followed by PC, PLA, PPSF, ULTEM9085 and their combinations. This report is on the development of a low cost FDM based 3D Printer using easily available materials and conventional methods for fabrication without compromising on features and functionality. The methodology used along with the various parts used and their detailed functions are listed. The materials and the design used for 3D printing were selected on the basis of availability and cost effectiveness. The designs for the printer parts and assembly were made through computer software

Title | : | The Use of Solid Waste in Making Eco- Friendly Bricks |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Pooja Naik || Vaibhav Shirodkar |
Abstract: urbanization lead to a vast generation of solid waste and discharge of these waste materials became a major problem. Dumping and landfilling of solid waste leads to environmental degradation i.e. ground water contamination through leaching, which results in soil pollution and also impact on human health. In recent years, the utilization of solid waste as become more potential to recycle the valuable material and decrease the volume of solid waste, other pollutants and dumping cost. This paper is concern to reuse and recycle the available solid waste generated from paint industry. To find a socio-economic, eco-friendly solution, waste trash can be recycled for the preparation of bricks, which sustain a cleaner environment. The increased quest for sustainable and eco-friendly materials in civil construction works. It is useful to provide sustainable and potential solution in the construction field..

Title | : | Automotive Safety System "A Mechanism to Detect Alcoholic Driver and Prevent Ignition'' |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Swiston Vaz || Amister Peixote || Evander Afonso || Rusell Dias |
Abstract: In thismechanism an alcoholic detection system is deployed with a prime motive to counter the road accidents which may lead to auto crash, roadway wounds and vehicular passing to increased liquor content. Despite of heavy penalties by the traffic authorities this still remains a serious issue. In this mechanism the BAC (Blood alcohol content.) acts as an input to the system. The mechanism uses a DC motor which acts as an engine. The battery provides the required ignition to the system. The MQ-3 sensor is fixed to the steering of the vehicle is association with the Adruino Uno, LCD display and a buzzer. A threshold alcohol value is set, violation of which leads to discontinuity of the ignition and stopping the engine resulting in reduction of road mishaps.

Title | : | Production of Biodiesel from Microalgae Using Heat Extraction Method and Its Performance and Emission Testing In Crdi Engine |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Eric Vas || Cayson Gomes || Joyron Andrade || Manfred Cardozo || Suresh D Mane |
Abstract: With the growing need of fuels for various activities like transportation and power generation the need for fuel has increased. Keeping this objective in mind we decided to pursue our project on production of biodiesel from algae. The reason we chose this as our project is because of ability to cultivate algae on large scale. After testing with other species of algae we chose Sargassum as it gave us 20-30% oil on 1 kg of algae. After the selection of the species we went to the Talpona beach in goa to search for the algae. We managed to collect 50kg of wet algae. After collecting the algae we dried the algae in the presence of sunlight. This was done to remove the water present in the algae. Once the drying processes was completed we moved to the grinding of the dried algae using a grinder.....

Title | : | Analysis on Characteristics of Self Compacting Concrete Using Recycled Aggregate: A Review |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Swapna Rani Pradhan || Priyanshu Sinha || Sudipta Hui || Gaurav Udgata |
Abstract: The inclusion of SCC or self-consolidating concrete is an innovative way to capitalize onthe demolished coarse aggregates in concrete. This can be obtained by crushing of old concretespecimens, beams, slabs, etc. This methodology was first introduced in Japan due to the scarcity andunavailability of labor. Since then it has gain popularity and has become a trend in the constructionsector. Its characteristics and properties are more or less similar to that of conventional concrete. Theflowability is good and there is no segregation of materials. It eliminates the vibration or any sort ofcompaction method which makes it easier to operate and perform in SITU. The durable propertyoffers rehabilitation such as repair applications. In this work SCC along with Recycled CoarseAggregate (RCA) is used in various proportions. The results are obtained and compared fordetermining the best proportion that can be adopted for practice. SCC, when incorporated withRecycled Aggregate (RA), showed a drop in compressive strength at various curing periods. Apartfrom mechanical properties, other various factors are discussed such as durability and microscopicanalysis. This will help in understanding its scope in the future.

Authors | : | Suresh D Mane || Ajoy D'silva || Brevan Pereira || Dakshant Sawant Talaulikar || Meghan Glen Gonsalves |
Abstract: The paper describes fabrication of an E bike and its performance analysis by means of a dynamic model equipped with a suitable control for the management of the assisted drive of the e-bike. The main advantage of this approach consists of the opportunity to simulate different versions of performances, e-bikes characterized by different parameters (total mass, motor torque, top speeds under different load conditions) and different control strategies. The study also undertakes comparison of the e-bike with a regular e-bike. A test setup to see the difference between an e-bike with only assistance of a li-ion battery package and the second with the assistance of a li-ion battery pack along with supercapacitors. The basic approach to this study is to confirm the fact that the li-ion battery performance and range can be improved with the combination of super capacitors.

Abstract: Villages are the back bone of our country. Nowadays people are facing problems to sell their own products through offline market. Due to lack of communication, labours may not get work/employment properly and even homemade products won't get sold as expected. To overcome this problem, we have come up with new idea of web based application which is named as "eVikas- A way to deal with agricultural and homely products". This is a platform that is dedicated to integrate farmers, co-operative society, retailer, suppliers, labours and customers and bridge the gap between them. Here we can access price and crop prediction for each product.

Title | : | Enhancement of Properties of Concrete Using Carbon Dioxide: An Initiative to Curb Carbon Footprints |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Priyanshu Sinha || Sudipta Hui || Narayan C. Moharana |
Abstract: In the present era, the word "Global Warming" needs no further introduction as 72% of the emitted greenhouse gases arecarbon dioxide of which 7%is produced when calcium carbonate is calcinated during the manufacturing of cement. This process is perilous to the environment. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), every year approximately 33.5 billion tonnes of CO2 is emitted which contributes to global warming. Therefore, it has become an arduous challenge to the construction industry to emphasize this matter for further research. By adopting Carbon Cure technology as the curing at the initial stage will help in eradicating the impact. So far 22,400 tonnes of CO2 have been utilized and gainfully used utilizing CC technology. In this mechanism CO2 collected, purified, and infused into the concrete. This process helps the concrete in attaining high early strength in comparison to the conventional curing. The injected CO2 gets transformed into a mineral and.....
