Country | : | India |
Authors | : | S.Gracelin Juliana || P.Selvarajan || S.Perumal |
Abstract: Single crystals of triglycine sulpho-phosphate (TGSP) doped with cesium chloride were grown by slow evaporation technique. From single crystal XRD studies, it is observed that the grown crystals crystallize in monoclinic structure. Mechanical studies were performed by measuring microhardness of the samples at different loads. Second order NLO studies were carried out to understand the second order NLO activity. The ferroelectric nature of the sample has been analyzed by measuring dielectric constant and loss factor. Third order NLO parameters have been measured by Z-scan technique. LDT values of the samples have been measured using a Nd:YAG laser and the results are discussed.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | T.Gladys Vimala || E.Bena Jothy || P.Selvarajan |
Abstract: Glycine is available in many polymeric forms like -glycine, -glycine and -glycine and among these, gamma-glycine (-glycine) crystallizes in a non-centrosymmetric space group and hence it possesses nonlinear optical (NLO) and piezoelectric properties. Single crystals of gamma-glycine were grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique in the aqueous solution of cesium chloride. To obtain the sample of gamma-glycine, commercially available alpha-glycine and cesium chloride were taken in 2:1 molar ratio and it took about 25 days to harvest crystals of gamma-glycine.............

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | C.Besky Job || Shabu |
Abstract: Tri Glycine Sulphate (TGS) is a well known ferroelectric and pyroelectric material below its critical temperature (49oC) [1]. It finds application in the fabrication of infrared detectors, pyroelectric vidicon tube operating at room temperature, in the fabrication of capacitors, transducers and sensors [2-3]. TGS belongs to the biaxial monoclinic system associated with the polar space group P21 in the ferroelectric phase and it crystallizes in P21/m space group in the paraelectric phase [4-6] . The monoclinic b-axis is known to be parallel to spontaneous polarization direction. Therefore the b-cut (010) crystals are technologically important for many device applications [7-9]. Ferro electric TGS exhibits antiparallel

Title | : | Room Temperature NH3 – Sensing Properties of WO3 thin films Synthesized by Microprocessor Controlled Spray Pyrolysis |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | P. Shanthini Grace || J. Jebaraj Devadasan || K. Jeyadheepan || G.Jeevarani Thangam |
Abstract: Tungsten trioxide thin films were deposited on glass substrates by microprocessor controlled spray pyrolysis method. The characterization and gas sensitivity of WO3 thin film sensor were investigated. The WO3 thin films were observed to be sensitive for NH3 vapor at different concentrations (5-200ppm) at room temperature. The maximum sensitivity for NH3 vapor by WO3 sensor was found at 200ppm concentration. The response (~ 50s) and recovery (~30s) were the main features of these sensors. The high sensitivity, quick response and fast recovery indicated that WO3 thin film sensors are selective for NH3 vapor when compared with ethanol, acetone and toluene vapors.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | E. ThamaraiSelvi || S. MeenakshiSundar |
Abstract: Tin oxide (SnO2) nanoparticles were successfully synthesized via solvothermal method using the microwave oven technique at various calcination temperatures. The size of the nanoparticles was found to depend on calcination temperature. The near about spherical SnO2 nanoparticles show a pure tetragonal rutile crystalline structure. A decrease in the band gap which is contrary to the quantum size effect was shown by the synthesized SnO2 nanoparticles. SnO2 nanoparticles were characterized by X-ray diffraction, Transmission Electron Spectroscopy, Fourier Transformed Infrared spectroscopy, UV-Visible Spectroscopy,

Title | : | Controlling of Spin Wave Propagation in a Magnonic Waveguide with Alternative Antidot Width Modulation |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Vivek T || Zahraa Batool || Sabareesan P |
Abstract: Controlling of spin wave propagation in a 1-D Magnonic Antidot Waveguides (MAWs) is studied by introducing the periodic modulation along width of alternative antidots. In the present work, the magnonic band gaps are tuned by varying the width of alternative antidot in magnonic waveguide. The allowed band and forbidden bands are formed because of constructive and destructive interference between initial spin wave mode and higher excited quantized spin wave mode. The frequencies of the spin waves are in the order of microwave regime paves the way for building novel magnonic devices in mere future as well as quite applicable in the microwave communications.

Authors | : | K. Gnanaprakasam Dhinakar || S. Meenakshi Sundar |
Abstract: Cobalt doped Tin Oxide nanoparticles (Sn1-xCoxO2, x = 0.01 – 0.04) are synthesized by microwave assisted solvothermal method. The as prepared samples are annealed with 550 °C for 1 h. The XRD pattern shows that the particles are in tetragonal crystalline structure and there is no secondary phase. The particle sizes are calculated as 14 – 19 nm. TEM images and the SAED pattern reveal the crystalline nature of the samples and confirm the particle size from XRD results. From the UV-Vis spectroscopy it has found out that the optical band gap of the samples increases with the dopant ratio. The functional group analysis made from FTIR spectrum.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | E.Brightlin Felcia || K.Dhinakar Gnanam |
Abstract: The proposed project work is to synthesis SnO2 nanoparticles by microwave assisted hydrothermal method. We have used two solvents to synthesis SnO2 nanoparticles and comparing the structural and optical characteristics. The prepared samples are annealed with 250,500 and 750 for one hour. The structural parameters are studied using XRD spectrum. The optical characterizations are performed using FTIR spectroscopy and UV-Vis spectroscopy. The band gap values of the samples are calculated using tauc plot.

Title | : | Effect of Ni2+- ions on the Structural, Optical and Mechanical Properties of Ninhydrin Crystals |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | A.Ponchitra || K.Balasubramanian |
Abstract: Single crystals of pure and nickel doped ninhydrin were grown by slow evaporation method. Structural characterizations of the grown crystals were carried out by powder crystal X-ray diffraction method. The functional groups were identified by Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy. The percentage of transmittance of the crystal was recorded using the UV-Visible Spectrophotometer. The presence of nickel in the doped crystal was confirmed by Energy Dispersive X-ray analysis. The mechanical strength of the crystal was found out using Vickers micro hardness test. The second harmonic generation efficiency was measured by powder Kurtz method.

Authors | : | R.Jothi Mani || P.Selvarajan |
Abstract: NLO materials have a nonlinear response to the electric field of the light of a laser beam. Most of the amino acids are NLO materials that find application in field of optical communication, information technology, signal processing and industrial applications. The NLO active material such as L-alanine is mixed with ammonium sulphate to form novel NLO material for the first time. Ammonium sulphate admixtured L-alanine crystals (LAAS) were grown successfully by solution method with slow evaporation technique at room temperature. The grown crystals were colorless and transparent. The solubility of the grown samples has been found out at various temperatures.............
