Title | : | Implementation and Comparison of Feature Detection Methods in Image Mosaicing |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Anjana M V || Sandhya L |
Abstract: The method of joining two images to make a panorama is image mosaicing. Accuracy of registered image is based on accurate feature detection and matching. Feature extraction is one of the most important step for image processing. Feature detection is a low-level image processing operation. According to proposed method different feature extraction techniques can be used for image mosaicing. The work compares two robust methods Scale Invariant Feature Transform (SIFT) and Speeded Up Robust Features (SURF). It also gives a way to extract distinctive invariant features from images that can be used to perform matching between different views of a scene or object.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Arathi.S.Nair || Salim Paul |
Abstract: The navigation of a spacecraft is done by means of communication of radio waves with earth ground stations. Delta Differential One- Way Ranging (ΔDOR), is a powerful interplanetary navigation technique, providing a direct measurement of the angular position of a spacecraft. Its principle is to measure the difference in the arrival time of a spacecraft signal at two ground stations, and calibrating it with an ICRF (International Celestial Reference Frame) quasar signal. Delta-DOR is an application of Very Long Base Line Interferometry (VLBI).The correlation processing is the core section of the receiving system and it gathers signals...............

Authors | : | S.U Aswathy || Dr.G.Glan Devadhas || Dr.S.S.Kumar |
Abstract: In medical image processing, fully automatic brain tumor segmentation has a vital role in segmenting brain image more accurately and precisely. Segmentation is the process to accomplish these tasks by dividing an image into meaningful parts which share similar properties. Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) is a primary diagnostic technique to do image segmentation. It is challenging due to poor contrast and artifacts that result in missing or diffuse organ/tissue boundaries. Firstly, this paper describes the genetic algorithms, evolution process.The main methodology involves are 1) Pre-processing, 2) Segmentation, 3)Feature Extraction and Selection using Genetic Algorithm,4)Classification using SVM.The present work segments the tumor using Genetic Algorithm and classification of the tumor by using the SVM classifier.

Title | : | Efficient Probing and Ranking Based On Concise Range Query |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Remya.R.S |
Abstract: Spatial databases have analyzed an increasing number of applications recently, partially due to the fast press forward in the fields of mobile computing, embedded systems and the spread of the Internet. With the progress of wireless communication technology, it is quite common for people to view maps or get related services from the handheld devices, such as mobile phones and PDAs. Range queries, as one of the most commonly used tools, are often caused by the users to retrieve needful information from a spatial database. However, due to the limits of communication bandwidth and hardware power of handheld devices, displaying all the results of a range query on a handheld device is neither communication- efficient nor informative...............

Title | : | Evaluation of ICA Enhanced with DCT Compressed Mixing of Audio Signals |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Ashna Ummar || Kavitha.N.Nair || Dr. Lethakumari.B |
Abstract: In bury Audio environs with distributed microphones, Independent Component Analysis (ICA) can be applied to recuperate signals from an intermixture of signals and noise. This paper presents the evaluation of the performance of ICA enhanced with DCT Compression. Compressive Sensing demonstrates an approach for data acquisition below Nyquist rate ie, a small number of compressive measurements of original signals can be adequate for demand recovery. In fact, here ICA depress the signal mixtures into lower domain, in consequence of that it possess lower computational complexity.

Title | : | Vedic Mathematics Based Floating Point Multiplier Implementation for 24 Bit FFT Computation |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Athira Menon M S || Renjith R J |
Abstract: The computational complexity of various data processing applications is vastly reduced when signals are represented in the frequency domain. Fourier analysis converts a signal from its original domain to a representation in frequency domain. In launch vehicle systems, FFT is required for telemetry data processing applications. Since the systems work in real time, a fast and efficient computation of the FFT is called for. Vedic mathematics based on ancestral Indian Vedas gives a different multiplication algorithm to carry out fast multiplication. The idea for designing the multiplier unit is adopted from ancient Indian mathematics "Vedas". The Urdhva-Tiryakbhyam sutra (method) was selected for implementation since.............

Title | : | A Survey on Domain Adaptive Video Summarization Algorithm |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Aiswarya.N.R || Smitha.P.S |
Abstract: Most of the existing methods focus on generating a static summary of the videos based on low level features such as histograms, histogram of oriented gradients (HOG), color histogram of gradients (CHOG) etc. This treats the video as static images thus losing the temporal aspect of the media. Video summarization system can yield good results if the high level features also called the semantic concepts in video frame are modeled accurately by considering the temporal aspects of the frames. The existing system is context aware surveillance video summarization which is a Domain dependent System. It works only on low level features and correlation between them is extracted and updated using dictionary algorithm in an online fashion. Thus dictionary size increases.........

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Divya Rajan |
Abstract: As the optical signal travels in a fibre, it suffers attenuation. In order to counterbalance the attenuation losses in optical fibre, optical fibre amplifiers came into existence. Optical fibre can be doped with rare earth element such as erbium, ytterbium. Wavelength Division multiplexing technology is attractive for large capacity transmission system. In Erbium ytterbium co-doped fibre amplifier (EYCDFA), the major concentration is ytterbium element. The scope of this work is to analyze the performance of EYCDFA in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) network using Return-to-zero (RZ) and Non-Return-to-zero (NRZ) modulation format. The specified optical virtual environment is created in optisystem-7 software. Quality factor (QF), and Bit Error Rate (BER) have been observed to analyze the performance.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Kripa S || Monisha Menon |
Abstract: This paper presents an image stitching approach, which can produce visually plausible wide baseline panoramic images in which the inputs are taken from different viewpoints. This method got some variations from the previous methods, this approach uses Harris corner detector for the detection of corner point and the image stitching based on common stitching algorithms such as scale invariant feature transform (SIFT) combined with speeded up robust features (SURF) feature detection and random sample consensus (RANSAC) parameter estimation. It also uses homography similarity to identify if input images have enough correlation. This paper improves the composition and achieves good performance on misaligned areas.

Abstract: For an underwater target recognition system operated in complex oceanic ambience, the observations may become corrupted by several noise sources and channel modulations. Additionally, the classifier can be trained only with the available limited instances of different ship and submarine emanations but in real conditions, the classifier may encounter corrupted versions of the trained instances as well as novel or entirely unknown occurrences. The state-of-the-art target classifier assigns observed target data to the best matching class in its repertoire, thereby possibly misclassifying a novel target as an existing class, which can lead to situations of strategic issues and security risks............

Title | : | Matched Filtering Algorithm for Pulse Compression Radar |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Arya V.J || Subha V |
Abstract: Pulse Compression is one of the key steps in the signal processing of a radar system. Pulse compression technique is a method of achieving the benefits of short pulses while keeping the peak power within practical limits. This is a method of combining the high resolution capability of a short pulse with the high energy of a long pulse. This is achieved by modulating the transmitted pulse and then matching the received signal with the transmitted pulse. Matched filter is used as the pulse compression filter which provides high SNR at the output. Matched Filter is a time reversed and conjugated version of the received radar signal. There are several methods of pulse compression that have been used in the past, out of which most popular technique is Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM)...........
