Abstract: Youth play a pivotal role in moulding the destiny of our nation. Youthfulness is the prime stage in a person's life where one decides his or her future plan. The major part of lives decision lies in the age group of 18-35 years. Keeping this in mind the researcher had visited four villages in Tirupachurpanchayt and had selected two villages in Poondi block, the main focus being tribal youth who are the most marginalized section of society. The tribal youth are the most backward as they are pushed to the periphery of development. Having being denied the basic right to education as enshrined in the article 21A of the constitution they are deprived of education and livelihood opportunities as well.............

Abstract: Attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) is at present the most frequently diagnosed behavioral disorder in children. It affects 3-5% of school aged children and characterized by inattention, hyperactivity and impulsivity. The impact of this disorder can be pervasive, affecting schooling and academic performance, home life, peer relationships and social- emotional development. The families of children with ADHD have to commend with a greater number of behavioral, developmental and educational disturbances. Parenting a child with ADHD can require a great deal of patience and understanding on the part of the parent but what about the siblings? Having a brother or sister with ADHD can also be a great challenge...........

It affects terribly the personal and peer relationship, social and family life, smooth functions of daily life and even the school administration. The statistics show that in 2014, Kerala State Police had registered 2233 drug cases as per Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act. In the first three month of 2015 the reported cases is 985! Among these registered cases some cases moved to juvenile home. This means the guilty parties are belongining the age group up `to 18 years. Researchers, educators, police department and media is deeply involved to find out the reason behind the pathetic condition of mal adaptive behavior of preadolescents who caught by law due to substance and non substance addiction...........
