Abstract: This study mainly named to find the significant difference between various methodologies that should be used in translation methods. In this paper we would like to discuss details about the various definitions on methodologies of teaching. Some explanations given about translations are Relationship between methodology, theory, paradigm, algorithm and method, Two Dimension in Methodological teaching, Methodology in Translation. I would like to conclude that students should not be asked for rote memorization but to always look for new methods that have more significant tasks, which are suggestive and informative

Abstract: What is Translation? It is the art of reproducing the work of art from one language to the other. Who is a Translator? He is a person who takes sole responsibility to reach the mass. The art of translation is highly appreciated if the translator translates a work of art without his own ideas. Translators find it difficult to translate a piece of art from the source language (SL) to the target language (TL) for various reasons. Though they face many difficulties in translating a text, the translators are the preservers of the culture and they act as a mentor and a mediator as they transform a culture to the other...........

Abstract: Dylan Marlais Thomas (1914 –1953) is a Welsh poet and writer is one of the writers who have often been associated with Welsh literature and culture. Dylan Thomas's most notoriously difficult poem in 1935-36 he wrote his 'Altarwise by owl-light' sonnet sequence, and here we shall look at the first two sonnets of that sequence. The amount of commentary necessitated by all ten of the sonnets makes a discussion of the whole sequence here impossible, though the first two sonnets may lead you to explore further at a later stage. We will find it convenient to approach the two sonnets on their own for the time being. And first of all limit yourself to two basic exercises: (a) Try to find those points where some aspect of the narrative seems reasonable clear; b) Look up the following words in a dictionary: 'altarwise', 'owl-light', 'Abaddon', 'hangnail', 'mandrake', 'pelican'.

Abstract: Translation is a general term referring to the transfer of thoughts and ideas from one language (source) to another (target), whether the languages are in written or oral form. J.C.Catford defines translation as 'the replacement of textual material in one language (source language) by equivalent textual material in another language (target language)'. In an Indian context, translation is very important and the study of translation and its problems are even more important. Abstract: Translation as practice and as theory has become central to read Literature. Currently, the necessity of using translations in research as well as in teaching has increased. Abstract: Translation is an anglicized form of a Latin word. In it, "trans‟ means "across‟ and "laturn‟ means "to carry‟. In literal terms, it is an art of carrying across boundaries and barriers without losing the materials that is carried over. In literary terms, to translate means to make another language like one‟s own, to preserve meaning and significances across vocabularies, grammars and syntaxes. In other words it is an art of carrying across of the matters of one Source language into a Target language

Abstract: Herta Müller, born on August 17, 1953 in Nitzkydorf, a Danube Swabian village in the Banat region present Romania in a German-speaking minority group of people. Her father had been employed in Waffen SS and her mother was also a victim of the World War II. All her novels reflect the sufferings, pains and trauma by the people directly or indirectly due to the War. The mental agony presented through her writings, speaks of the intensified sufferings faced by the common people which were not given much importance by the historians. When the historians traces the facts and the happenings, the literary writers brings to the fore the pains, or the hardships or the emotional side of the people of that particular period. Only by these writers, one understands the society of any particular place during any specific period.

Abstract: Women are born free, but everywhere they are found in chains in our society. They are considered as inferior human beings and are always looked down upon. Since ages, they have been crushed in the whirlpool of male dominated society. Woman is not free and secure as man. She has been a victim to both physical and psychological affliction. She is considered frail and fragile. Since ancient times, man has acquired and occupied a superior status to a woman in the society. Simone de Beauvoir in The Second Sex has highlighted the victimized position of a woman in the society and she opines, ―One is not born, but rather becomes, a woman‖ (The Second Sex, 87). It means that the identity of the woman is socially constructed by the patriarchal system

Abstract: According to David Gordon, Translation theory is necessary for pastors and teachers to know everything about translation theory for two reasons. First, it will affect the way we interpret the Bible for our people. If we are completely unaware of translation theory we may unwittingly mislead our brothers and sisters in our interpretation. Second, there are so many English translations available, that no contemporary pastor will be able to escape the inevitable questions about which translations are superior. In translating any work, communication plays a major role and it has its own style. Every act of communication has three dimensions: Speaker (author), Message, and Audience............

Abstract: Translation plays a valuable role in the academy and beyond. Good translations can introduce scholars to new search, make works of literature and non- fiction available to new readers. Its complexity lies in being like the transfer of perfume from one bottle to another. As careful as you are, some fragrance is lost but the challenge remains to capture the essence. All things in nature are subject to change – and so is all cultural matter. Translation is always a shift, not between two languages but between the two types of cultural matter. Abstract: Translation has developed into an independent discipline over the years. Opportunities galore this field particularly in this modern technologically advanced world. The present study tries to bring out the avenues and the opportunities in the field of translation for the future aspirants of the field. Awareness of the career options and qualification necessary to take up translation as a profession becomes pertinent. Abstract: Though Translation is as old as the existence of the multiplicity of human languages and the migration and interaction of different language communities, its long-held facets of operation are fast changing oflate, thanks to globalization and IT revolution. Translation endeavors no longer are restricted to texts, but are fast taking up the huge global audio-visual information or knowledge data base (inclusive of documentaries, feature films, entertaining movies, TV serials, video games etc) of various languages to be disseminated to the other language communities other than one's own. With the advent of IT enabling in translating this database, the speed and burden of rendering it into other language has also been unimaginably reduced. Abstract: A novel measure to enhance communicative competence has been tried during the last academic year in our college. This case study forms the core element of this paper. It has been pedagogically tried in a class-room setting with self-interested cohorts of BBA stream. The small group of concerned students was regularly assembled and was given the task of reading the page six of the Tamil daily "Daily Thanthi". This page is exclusively devoted for business news borrowed and translated from the English national-daily "The Economic Times". The simultaneous and side-by-side reading of both the related passages was given to sub-groups and they were made to present to the whole group............
