Title | : | EXPERIMENTAL ANALYSIS OF DIRECT INJECTION DIESEL ENGINE USING PALMAROSA OIL |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | D.THAMILSELVAN. M.PARTHIPAN |
Abstract: The depleting fossil fuel resources, increases the price of fuel continuously. At one point of time the whole resources may come to end. Keeping this in view many researchers identified various alternative fuels and tested successfully. In the present investigation the performance and emission characteristics of single cylinder four stroke direct injection diesel engine using palmarosa oil as an alternate fuel is evaluated. Here palmarosa oil is used in the form of blends at various proportions with diesel. High viscosity is one important difference between palmarosa oil and commercial diesel fuel. Bio-diesel is prepared from palmarosa oil using double Trans esterification process. A single cylinder, four stroke, constant speed, water cooled, direct injection diesel engine is used for the experiment. The performance of the engine is measured using electrical dynamometer and the emissions such as CO2, CO; HC & Nox is measured using exhaust gas analyzer. The experimental data for various parameters such as thermal efficiency, brake specific fuel consumptions (BSFC) are analyzed. Acceptable thermal efficiencies of the engine were obtained with blends containing up to 75% of palmarosa oil biodiesel blend.

Title | : | EXPERIMENTAL AND FINITE ELEMENT ANALYSIS OF HYDROFORMING PROCESS FOR STEPPED DIE |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | K. Sadasivan. P. Ganesh |
Abstract: Hydroforming processes have become popular in recent years, due to the increasing demands for lightweight parts in various fields, such as bicycle, automotive, aircraft and aerospace industries. Hydroforming uses fluid pressure in place of the punch as comparing with a conventional tool set to form the component into the desired shape of the die. The hydroforming is very useful for producing whole components that would otherwise be made from multiple stampings joined together. Shape of hydro formed parts is more complicated but very smooth and harmonic. This research work details the comparison between high and low pressure AA5083 sheet hydroforming for the stepped rectangular geometry. It is determined that the applied pressure and clamping force required for optimum sheet hydroforming process. The bulging height and thickness distribution of the part after bulging tests were measured for analyzed. Finite element modeling of sheet hydroforming has been performed using finite element software ABAQUS.

Authors | : | K.Alagarraja. A.Dhamodharan. K.Gopinathan. R.Mathan Raj. K.Ram Kumar |
Abstract: The composite materials are replacing the traditional materials, because of its superior properties such as high tensile strength, low thermal expansion, high strength to weight ratio. The developments of new materials are on the anvil and are growing day by day. Natural fiber composites such as sisal polymer composites became more attractive due to their high specific strength, lightweight and biodegradability. Mixing of natural fiber with Glass-Fiber Reinforced Polymers (GFRPs) is finding increased applications. In this study, sisal – glass fiber reinforced epoxy composites is developed and their mechanical properties such as tensile strength, compression strength, flexural strength and impact strength are evaluated. The interfacial properties, internal cracks and internal structure of the fractured surfaces are evaluated by using Travelling Microscope .The results indicated that the incorporation of sisal fiber with GFRP can improve the properties and used as an alternate material for glass fiber reinforced polymer composites.

Title | : | IMPLEMENTATION OF VALUE STREAM MAPPING IN AUTO ANCILLARY INDUSTRY TO REDUCE CYCLE TIME |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | J.A. Deva Prince. K. S.Sreenivasan. S. Kathiresan. S.Anand |
Abstract: Value Stream Mapping has the reputation of uncovering waste in manufacturing, production and business processes by identifying and removing or streamlining on-value-adding steps. A flow diagram showing the process is drawn to reflect the current state of the operation. The non-value actions are identified in each step and between each step by their waste of time and resources. The process is analyzed for opportunity to drastically reduce and simplify it to the fewest actions necessary. By reducing wastefulness the proportion of value adding time in the whole process rises and the process throughput speed is increased. This makes the redesigned process more effective (the right things are being done) and more efficient(needing fewer resources). The reengineered process is flowcharted in its future state with process steps and information flows redesigned, simplified and made less expensive.

Authors | : | Gayathri. Paul chandrakumar |
Abstract: This paper presents the robot opens the door with a great force due to their occur friction and these is a loss of mechanical parts. In order to overcome two sensors are introduce in the proposed system. ULTRA SONIC SENSOR and PIR SENSOR are used to avoid the loss of mechanical parts due to friction. These sensors accurately detect the human arrival and open the door with less friction. Instead of gripper here magnet is use to save power. To develop a new concept that utilizes the multiple working modes of the MRR modules. The control design is significantly simplified by switching selected joints of the MRR to work in passive mode during door-opening Operations. Different control schemes are used for control of the joint modules in different working modes. The active joint modules, a distributed control method based on torque sensing is used to facilitate the control of joint modules working under this mode. The main concern of opening a door is how to prevent the occurrence of large internal forces that arise because of the positioning errors or imprecise modeling of the robot or its environment, specifically, the door parameters. The active joint modules, a distributed control method based on torque sensing is used to facilitate the control of joint modules working under this mode
