Abstract: TheVarious substituted Quinoline containing different functional group have been synthesized by conventional method. The quinoline derivative is synthesized by using 8-hydroxy quinoline) was first treated with ethyl chloroacetate to form ester intermediate which was subsequently treated with Hydrazine Hydrate result into formation of Hydrazone derivative then this intermediate was made to react with substituted benzoic acid. The final structures have been established on the basis of their chemical analysis and spectral data. Final compounds were further evaluated for in-vitro anti-microbial activity using standards.

Abstract: The chemical modification of plantago psyllium, an anionic polysaccharide, was done by grafting of polymethylmethacrylate chains to prepare a graft copolymer (psy-g-MMA). It was synthesized under microwave irradiation without adding any radical or catalyst with 139% grafting using 850 W MW power in 70 second at MMA concentration 2 M/L, psyllium (10g/L). The maximum grafting was optimized by varying the MW power, exposure time and MMA/psyllium concentration. MW synthesized psy-g-PMMA copolymer was characterized by FTIR, TGA, XRD and SEM. The grafted sample was evaluated for physiochemical properties such as swelling behavior, chemical resistance. The graft copolymer has been successfully used for the removal of metal ions, dye adsorption and decoloration of dye solution.

Abstract: Within the Moroccan natural resources valorization scheme, porous ceramics have been prepared from clay minerals and oil shale sintered between 1000 and 1100 °C. X-ray diffraction, differential thermal analysis and scanning electron microscopy were used to examine the structural and microstructural changes of the materials. Porosity and pore size distribution were measured using mercury intrusion porosimetry. The mechanical properties were investigated by three-point flexural and Brazilian tests, while the elastic properties were evaluated by ultrasonic non-destructive testing. When sintered at 1100 °C, ceramics prepared by mixing raw clay and oil shale are twice as porous as materials obtained from clay only (43.89 and 19.32 % respectively).

Abstract: A series of Samarium substituted Magnesium ferrites (Mg Smx Fe2-xO4 with x = 0.000, 0.025, 0.050, 0.075, 0.1) was synthesized by the Citrate–Gel auto combustion method at low temperature. Synthesized powders were sintered at 5000C for 4 hours in an air and were characterized by XRD, SEM and EDS. XRD analysis reveals that the samples are single phase with crystallized sizes in the 51 nm to 62 nm region increases. In lattice parameter with doping concentration suggests the expansion in unit cell with Sm+3 doping. The values of lattice parameter (a) decreased and x-ray density (dx) was increased with the increasing of Sm substitution. Scanning Electron Microscopic (SEM) studies revealed nano crystal and nature of the samples. An elemental composition of the sample was studied by Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy (EDS). The observed results can be explained on the basis of composition and crystal size.

Abstract: The objective of present research work was to develop simplest synthetic route for BiVO4 pigment. The economical synthetic route was planned to put forward a time efficient reaction. The challenge here was to reduce complexity of the conditions like high temperature and pH, use of multiple chemical reagents and catalyst/s. Proposed synthetic route involves calcination of bismuth salt and vanadium pentaoxide admixture without the addition of any alkaline metals or alkaline earth metals and in absence of any organic and/or inorganic compound as a reagent or as a catalyst nor even as a solvent. The said synthesis produces monoclinic BiVO4 phase in single step, which is more stable than tetragonal BiVO4, a less stable intermediate product of conventional wet chemical co-precipitation (WCCP) reaction processes..

Abstract: Ferrite nano particles of basic composition Ni0.3 Cd0.5-x Smx Fe2O4(0.0 ≤ x ≤ 0.5, X=0.1 ) where synthesized by citrate-gel auto combustion method have investigated. X-ray diffraction profile indicates that the samples are in single phase structure for the sample without Sm content. For the samples with Sm ions, some diffraction peaks appeared which belongs to the orthorhombic phase structure further, the XRD have been used calculated the lattice parameter, density and grain size. The particle size of the starting powder composition varied from 35nm to 46nm. The values of lattice parameter (a) decreased and X-ray density (dx) increased with the increase of Sm content. Morphology of the prepared samples by citrate-gel method was studied using scanning electron microscope (SEM). The elemental analysis of all the Ni-Cd-Sm ferrite samples with different compositions was analyzed by Energy Dispersive Spectrometer (EDS). The observed results can be explained on the basis of composition and crystal size.

Abstract: Every day, every second in different part of the world, new class of environmental friendly greener materials like natural fiber reinforced polymer composites with superior properties are being produced in order to improve livelihoods of people. In this study, untreated, alkali treated, potassium permanganate treated, benzoyl chloride treated and acrylic acid treated areca fiber reinforced natural rubber composites were fabricated by using heat press machine under 40%, 50%, 60% and 70% fiber loadings at a compounding temperature of 130 oC. The aim of this research work is to study the influence of chemical treatments on the tensile strength of areca fiber reinforced natural rubber composites..

Abstract: The kinetics of the Platinum(II) catalyzed oxidation of plant derived D-(+) Galactose by cerium(IV) in sulphuric acid medium have been studied in the temperature range of (310-335)K. The order of the reaction found to be first order with respect to D-(+) Galactose in catalyzed reactions. The reaction proceed through the formation of an intermediate complex and the rate of the reaction decreases with increasing [H2SO4]. A1:2 stoichiometry is observed in the oxidation of D-(+) Galactose. The effect of temperature was studied and Arrhenius equation and various activation parameters have been calculated. Arabinose and formic acid have been identified as main oxidation products. A plausible mechanism was proposed and a rate law explaining the experimental results is derived. Abstract: Water samples contaminated with heavy metals (Zn, Cu and Pb) were subjected to phytoremediation method using water hyacinth (E. crassipes) for the period of 8 weeks. The study involved the preparation of the heavy metals solutions in different concentrations (their pH values supplemented) into eight 40L plastic containers, with six containers having the solutions of heavy metals (Zn, Cu and Pb in their replicates) while two plastic containers served as the control. Thereafter, the experiment was monitored and analyzed for 8 weeks for metal accumulation by the plant..

Abstract: A new cobalt(II) complex, [Co(acac)3], (where, acac=acetylacetone) has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, UV-Vis, FT-IR and thermal analysis and single crystal X-ray diffraction techniques. The result of characterization showed that the crystal is monoclinic system, P21/c space group with crystal parameters: a=13.8081(10)Å, b=7.4354(4)Å, c=16.1352(11) Å and Z = 4. The Co(II) had an ideal octahedral coordination environment with four oxygen atoms of acetylacetone ligand. Binding of this Co(II) complex with calf thymus DNA was investigated by UV-Visible absorption, fluorescence spectroscopy techniques. The intrinsic binding constants Kb of complex with CT-DNA obtained from UV-Vis absorption studies were 4.43 × 105M-1. Further, the in vitro cytotoxic effect of the complexes examined on cancerous cell line, such as human breast cancer cells (MCF-7).

Abstract: In the present study a flower of Hibiscus vittifolius.L of the was used as a source of natural dyes for dyeing of cotton samples. It belongs to family Family Malvaceae, Commonly known as Siru thutthi. The dye has good scope in the commercial dyeing of cotton in textile industry. In the present study, bleached cotton fabrics were dyed with different chemical mordants. Dyeing was carried out by pre-mordanting, post- mordanting and simultaneous mordanting. The dyed samples have show good washing, light, rubbing fastness and perspiration fastness properties. The various colour changes were measured by computer colour matching software.
