Abstract: A Central India hosts the country's three most important primary diamond fields, distributed across two Archaean cratons: the Majhgawan-Hinota diatremes (Panna district) and the Bunder (Saptarshi) lamproite cluster (Chhatarpur district) on the Bundelkhand Craton, and the Behradih pipe of the Mainpur Kimberlite Field (Gariaband district, Chhattisgarh) on the Bastar Craton. This paper reviews their locations, geological settings, emplacement types and emplacement periods, and develops a three-way comparative analysis followed by an assessment of future prospects. The Bundelkhand fields are Mesoproterozoic: phlogopite Ar-Ar and Rb-Sr ages of ~1073.5 ± 13.7 Ma.....
