ABSTRACT: This study analyseddeterminants of risk management technologies adopted by smallholder farmers in Ohaukwu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Nigeria.A structured questionnaire was used to collect data from 120 randomly selected smallholder farmers. OLS regression analysis, frequency, mean and percentagewere employed for data analysis. The result of the socio-economic characteristics of the respondents showed that the majority (74.2%) are males with a mean age of 37 years. 68.3% of the respondents are marriedwith an average household size of 7 persons. The average annual income ofN110,245 and a mean farming experience of 8 years were obtained. Over 80 percent of the farmers admitted to having diversified their income portfolio to non-farm enterprisessuch as......

ABSTRACT: One of the horticultural commodities from fruits that has a fairly high economic value and still requires development, especially in increasing the yield and quality of the fruit is melon. This study aims to analyze the effect of the use of production factors and the allocative efficiency of production factors used by farmers in melon farming in Banjarbaru City. The results of the analysis showed that statistical testing of the production function of the Cobb-Douglas type showed that simultaneously (simultaneous) production factors (land area, number of seeds, organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers, pesticides and labor) had a significant effect on melon production. Partial factors of production of land area, seeds, organic fertilizers, inorganic fertilizers and labor have a significant......

ABSTRACT: The study was conducted to determine the effect of NPK fertilizer combined with Magnesium Sulphate on nutrient content and uptake of wheat under screen house condition at the Faculty of Agriculture, University of Maiduguri. Five kilogram of virgin soil was measured into pots and moistened and wheat seeds were sown. The experiment consisted of twelve treatments in three replicates. These treatments were, TRT 1 (0g NPK + 0g MgSO4), TRT 2 (0g NPK + 0.25g Mg SO4), TRT 3 (0g NPK + 0.50g MgSO4), TRT 4 (0.50g NPK + 0g Mg SO4), TRT 5 (0.50g NPK + 0.25g Mg SO4, TRT 6 (0.50g NPK + 0.50g Mg SO4), TRT 7 (0.75g NPK + 0g Mg SO4), TRT 8 (0.75g NPK + 0.25g......

ABSTRACT: Investigation of state and influence of environment on bacteria occurrences, load and prevalence on two fish species (Clarias gariepinus and Gymnarchus niloticus) of economic importance in Nigeria was carried out in Ese-Odo delta (aquatic) environment. A total of 46 fish samples comprising of 23 Clarias gariepinus and 23 Gymnarchus niloticus were collected from the Ese-Odo delta environment and assessed for bacteria occurrence, prevalence and load. Seventeen species of bacteria were recovered from Clarias gariepinus while five bacteria species recovered from Gymnarchus niloticus. Bacteria load on the body of Clarias gariepinus indicated 67.28 ± 29.11 × 103......

ABSTRACT: Background: Up to nowadays, agriculture is still closely related to poverty and rural areas, it is affected by many factors including farmer's capital. Sufficient capital will make farming work well and support farmers' income, it is can be fulfilled by utilizing both formal and informal credit. Banjar Regency is one of the largest rice-producing regencies in South Kalimantan, in 2017 there was a large decline in the use of paddy fields for rice plants. This decrease can be caused by various factors such as the change of land use, natural conditions, capital, etc. Based on these problems,.......
