ABSTRACT: Silage-making has great potential to solve seasonal shortage of feed for ruminants in Nigeria by preserving excess forage produced during the wet season for use at the dry period. Furthermore, urea inclusion helps to improve fermentation properties and quality of silage. Therefore the main objective of this experiment was to assess the effect of urea treatment on quality of silage blend of sunflower and cassava peels. Sunflower and cassava peels were thoroughly mixed with varying levels of urea inclusion, compacted and ensiled for 21 days. After 21 days of ensiling period, silage samples were then opened and analyzed for chemical composition and fermentative characteristics. Results.....

ABSTRACT: The sustainable coordinated economic system between the society and regional government becomes one of the causes of the low disparity in natural resources management, especially in the agricultural sector. Kabawo and Parigi districts are two districts of development located in Muna Regency, Southeast Sulawesi. Both districts have an excellent prospect in agricultural commodities. This research aimed to know the potential development of superior agricultural commodities in both districts as the innovation and creativity food products in sustaining regional economy by the mobility of population between districts. This study used location quotient (LQ) analysis to determine the superior subsector or economic base of an economic area and descriptive qualitative......

ABSTRACT:Genetic studies of dual-purpose traits in cowpea was carried out at Teaching and Research Farm of Joseph Saawuan Tarka University, Makurdi, Nigeria. The objectives of the study were to determine the type and magnitude of gene action controlling dual-purpose traits and to determine heritability and genetic advance for the traits under study. Six generations viz: P1, P2, F1, F2, BC1 and BC2 constituted the experimental material. They were grown in a Randomized Complete Block Design with three replications. Data were obtained on 100-seed weight, seed yield, stem weight, pod weight, pod length. number of pods per plant, number of branches, number of seeds per plant, leaf weight, leaf-stem ratio, dual trait and fodder yield. Statistical analyses conducted included analysis.....

ABSTRACT: Fish as a whole has a lot of food potential and can therefore be expected to provide relief from malnutrition; especially in developing countries. Tilapias are important in local and export markets as well as food fish by rural farmers. Tilapia species are important in the ecology of tropical waters as well as in the resources of aquatic systems of the sub-tropical regions. Tilapia species are suitable for fish culture and are the commercially important inland water fish of Africa. The population structure, length-weight relationship and condition factor of Tilapia zilliand Oreochromisniloticuswere determined in Mid-Cross River basin, South-Eastern Nigeria. A total of 120 fish samples eachof T. zilli and O. niloticus were analyzed and modelled. Data were collected monthly for a period of four months. The sexes were identified with their morphological factors. The length-weight relationship and condition factors were determined by mathematical and statistical method in FiSATII software. Sex ratio.....

ABSTRACT: The research trial experiment was carried out for two years during Kharif Season-2018 & 2019 at Agricultural Research Station (ARS) Navgaon-Alwar Rajasthan on Tomato. In this research trial applied two fungal bio-agents and one chemical as nursery treatment. Okra (Abelmoschus esculentus) was used as trap crop except untreated check for the nematode trapped at initial stage and okra plants were uprooted after 18 days from date of germination. Fungal bio-agents viz. Paecilomyces lilacinus and Trichoderma harzianum @ 5.0 and 10 g /m2 doses were applied of each respectively and one chemical Carbofuran 3G @ 2.5 and 5.0 g /m2 were applied untreated check (control) was maintained. Research findings of the research trial was Paecilomyces lilacinus @ 10g/ m2 area in nursery treatment.......

ABSTRACT:Two field experiments were conducted during the 2017/2018 winter seasons in the Qandula region in the Green Mountain, south of the city of Al-Bayda - Libya. In order to study the effect of adding four levels of poultry manure fertilizer (0, 10, 20, 30 tons/ hectare), on the growth and productivity of the lettuce plant and cultivated with two cultivation distances (20×60 cm) and (40×60 cm) between the other plant along the line and the distance between the lines is 60 cm. The two experiments were designed on the basis of a split-once system, using a randomized complete block design with three replications.
The results showed that the poultry manure and the planting distance had a significant effect on the vegetative and yield characteristics of the lettuce.....
