ABSTRACT: Tomato is a popular vegetable with important health benefits due to its high level of bioactive compounds, especially lycopene, phenolics, and vitamin C. The influence of varied cultural technique and different concentration of plant growth regulators (PGRs) on the bioactive compounds' concentration was studied. BARI Tomato-4 tomato variety was grown and collected from a greenhouse. The obtained results showed that there were significant differences in the mean values between analyzed parameters according to the culture technique and PGRs. The highest vitamin......

ABSTRACT: Water hyacinth is a water weed that dominates in water bodies worldwide. Its utilization not only solves problems but also provides economic benefits. In developing countries, hydroponic farming requires a growing medium that is cheap, easily accessible, and sustainable. Therefore, the production of a substitute medium using rockwool with water hyacinth roots as the main material becomes very intriguing. The research was conducted by processing products based on water hyacinth roots using various adhesives (Rootwool) . The study used a Completely Randomized......

ABSTRACT: Background: Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) was an important vegetable commodity for the Indonesian community. Terong Borneo Lu, classified as a highly potential type of eggplant, adapted well to lowland areas and had the advantage of being registered as a local eggplant variety originating from Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan. At that time, farmers generally performed inadequate fertilization, which consequently had a negative impact on soil properties and the overall environment......

ABSTRACT: Background: Manipulation of fermentation in the rumen was an effort to produce ruminant livestock production efficiency, by reducing methane gas production per unit of product. Various local tree folliages have the potential as a source of quality nutrients. Secondary metabolite compounds in plants have the potential as antimethanogenic. This experiment aimed at evaluating the potential of 17 tree foliages for ruminant supplements to increase animal production. Materials and Methods: This experiment aimed at evaluating the potential of 17 tree foliages for ruminant supplements to increase animal production and supressing enteric methane production in the rumen. Nutritional evaluation were determined on the basis of proximate and fibre analysis while the fermentability of leaves were measured by in vitro gas production method. Samples of gas were withdrawn from the syringes to analysis gas production....

ABSTRACT: This field experiment was conducted at the agriculture faculty of Zamzam University of Science and Technology in Somalia during the winter season of 2021 to observe the growth and yield of a local variety of sorghum under varying levels of nitrogen. A randomized complete block design with 4 replications was used, with three levels of nitrogen (0.0, 75.,0 and 150.0 kg of N/ha) as treatments. The aim of the study was to determine the response of sorghum growth and yield to nitrogen levels and identify the rate that produces the highest yield. Results showed that the number......

ABSTRACT: The present study was carried out to assess the effects on Japanese quail of the combination of a phytobiotic (Dichrostachys glomerata), an enzyme (Enziblend Plus®) and a probiotic (Thepax®) on growth performance, carcass characteristics, feed component digestibility and blood parameters. For this purpose, 256 two-week-old quails weighing 55±15 g were housed in cages following a completely randomised design with 8 treatments including 2 controls repeated 4 times each (8x4= 32 experimental units). Each treatment consisted of 32 quails, 8 per replicate (4 males and 4 females). The birds in group 1 without additives represented the negative control and those in group 2 supplemented with antibiotic, the positive control. Animals in groups 3, 4 and 5 received 4 g D. glomerata per kg......

ABSTRACT: The objective of the present study was to investigate the effect of two lightning programs on the productive performance of both broiler genotypes (fast and slow growth) chicks. A total of 417 un-sexed broiler chicks of two different commercial strains (163 Cobb as a type of fast-growth broiler and 254 Sasso as a type of slow-growth broiler) were reared in two different continues photoperiods regimens (24 h. of light:0h of dark. and 20h of light: 4h. of dark) from 1 to 35days of age......

ABSTRACT: Newly cleared land is dominated by low soil fertility problems. It is necessary to provide soil amendments to increase soil fertility and yield potential in new cleared land. The study was conducted with a factorial randomized block design with 3 replications. Soil amendments with three levels of biochar and manure 20 t ha-1 and no amendments, while the rice lines tested were 6 lines. The results showed positive and negative correlations between morpho agronomic parameters and nutrient uptake of rice in newly cleared land after being given soil amendments. K uptake in rice is closely related to yield potential and plant height. Grain weight is closely related to the harvest index. Knowing the correlation between parameters can be a reference in determining appropriate agronomic technique to increase rice production in newly rice field.
