Abstract: Heavy metals like cadmium (Cd), found in agricultural soils are highly toxic to both plants and animals and
pose threats to future crop production and food safety. This research investigates the impact of Cd stress on
seedlings of five fragrant rice varieties: Meixiangzhan 2 (V1), Xiangyaxiangzhan (V2), Guixiangzhan (V3),
Basmati (V4), and Nongxiang 18 (V5). The study assessed four Cd stress levels (0, 50, 100, and 150 mg/kg soil)
