Abstract: The paper overviews the economic development and human capital formation in karnataka. The present study is based on secondary data sources, The study period is 1991 to 2016.The study area is karnataka state. The database is taken from RBI handbook of statistics, Ministry of Human Resource Department (MHRD) Government of India, Registrar General of India, Primary Census Abstract 2011, Indiastat. In order to study the performance of human development in Karnataka, the education and health sectors have considered. Tools like Johansen co-integration and Error Correction Model (ECM) for determining long run and short run relation between factors determining human capital formation in Karnataka. Abstract: This paper examined the effects of corruption on cost of governance, corruption which has eaten deep into the fabrics of the society and has made cost of governance to be on the increase thereby reducing the proportion of public revenue available to support and implement the social, economic and political obligation of the government The recent administration as part of its efforts to fight corruption has compelled all MDAs to comply with the section 80 and 162 of the Nigeria's constitution as amended by maintaining treasury single account into which all government revenues receipt and payments are expected to be made through this account maintained by the Central Bank of Nigeria. Abstract: The study exhaustively examines the impact of capital expenditure on foreign direct investment in Nigeria between 2000 and 2012. Capital expenditure directly or indirectly relates with foreign direct investment all over the world but the former tends to portend the efficacy of the latter. Realistically, the rate of economic growth of any country stimulated by foreign direct investment in fundamentally determined by such government capital expenditure. Therefore, it is in the light of this the researcher sources secondary data for the period under review (2000-2012) particularly Annual Time Services on government capital expenditure and foreign direct investment extracted from CBN statistical Bulletin published in 2012. Moreso, to be able to capture the impact of capital expenditure in foreign direct investment without iota of doubt. Ordinary least square (OLS) is adopted for the analysis. The result from OLS estimates will show how capital expenditure negatively determines FDI at 5% level of significance. Other pertinent information on how the two variables symbolistically relate and determine economic, growth are clearly explained in the course of this paper.

Abstract: Hmar tribe inhabits over a vast areas of North East India covering states of Manipur, Assam, Tripura and Mizoram. Christianization of the Hmar started during the colonial period. Today, they, irrespective of their inhabiting States, become Christian. Since then, the Hmars had celebrated the coming of the gospel for a century year old. The present paper tries to highlight the impact of Christianity on Hmar Women. Some feminists charge that Christianity, the Bible, and the Church are anti-female and oppressive to women. The paper examines the Biblical texts which relates with women and to locate the biblical meaning on Hmar context.

Abstract: Child abuse and neglect can be viewed as a pervasive occurrence inflicted on children by adults in authoritative positions, which in most cases are their parents or guardians. Although the phenomenon of abuse and neglect amongst children is widespread, the empirical data for this cannot be established because of the large number of cases that go unreported, due to the shame of disclosure. Thus, the amount of research work for the development and implementation of any kind of intervention for this population at the grass root level, is negligible. Studies in the field suggest that art interventions, built on expressive therapy principles, are one of the most appropriate and least stressful techniques for identification and management of child abuse victims. Abstract: The process of decision making in a family has an important bearing on the intra-household dynamics and welfare of the households. Most of the models of household decision making assume that the family as a whole is the decision making unit and there exists a single household utility function. Each member of the household jointly maximizes the level of utility for given income. These so called unitary models (Becker, 1965) are based on the assumption that the tastes and preferences of all household members are the same. What would be the household welfare function if household members have different preferences? This brings to therefore the questions about the distribution of resources within the household (Behram, 1988). Abstract: The paper discusses the impact of exclusive breastfeeding practice on the occupation of both formal and non formal working mothers in Uyo urban in Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria who had their delivery between 2000 and 2012. The formal working mothers comprised those in private and government institutions while non-formal working women comprised women who where self employed in Uyo urban. Questionnaire and indept interviews were the major instruments for data coll ection. A total of 256 mothers who were selected through simple random sampling method after a systematic sampling of the places of work were conducted. Focus Group Discussions (FGDs) with women groups in four study communities complemented the questionnaire. Simple percentages were used to analyze the social demographic data, while student t-test was used to test the hypotheses. Abstract: This study investigated the relationship between the support supervisory roles of Heads of Department and teachers' effectiveness in secondary schools in Nigeria. Specifically, the study sought to find out the relationship between HODs instructional supervision,communication and moderation of assessment of learners and teachers effectiveness. A correlational research design was used where a total sample of 200 respondents were employed. The data which was majorly quantitative in nature was collected from the respondents using a self-designed questionnaire, the validation of the instrument was properly done with a reliability coefficient of 0.902.The data was analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics. Abstract: This study aimed to assess the prevalence of diabetes and unrecognized diabetes in hypertensive patients aged 40 to 79 years in Kaduna metropolis of Nigeria. From December 2016 to May 2017, a cross-sectional survey was conducted in 2021 hypertensive patients aged 40 to 79 years living in Kaduna North, Kaduna South and Igebi LGA of Kaduna state. Fasting plasma glucose (FPG) and 2h plasma glucose (2-hPG) in an oral glucose-tolerance test (OGTT) were used for assessments. Whether the patients previously had diabetes mellitus (DM) was determined by their own reports. The survey was carried out by the same questionnaire for all respondents. DM prevalence was 32.0% in hypertensive patients aged 40 to 79 years in Kaduna metropolis, with the rates of 29.6% and 33.5% in men........

Abstract: The aim of this research is to investigate the youth radicalisation in Kenya. The study sought to investigate recruitment of youth to the unlawful groups, sponsors of unlawful groups, gender prone to unlawful groups, level of education and preventive measures against radicalisation among youth in Kenya. The study observed that radicalisation was going on in Central, Nairobi, Eastern, Nyanza, North Eastern, Coast, Western and Rift Valley regions in Kenya.
