Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Eswari Prem || R.Ramanarayanan || K.Usha |
Abstract: Diabetic mellitus is a chronic disease of pancreatic origin which is not fully curable once a person became diabetic. This paper treats the model with prophylactic treatment, considering a person who is exposed to diabetes and organ failure. In this model, time to diabetes is Erlang-2 where as organ failure process is general. In this paper we present the expected time to treatment and expected cure time with numerical examples.

Title | : | Some Variable Hybrids Linear Multistep Methods for Solving First Order Ordinary Differential |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | Equations Using Taylor's Series |
Abstract:This paper proposes a family of single step, fifth and fourth order continuous hybrid linear multistep methods (CHLMM). These methods are used to integrate the initial value problems of first order ordinary differential equations. The methods are obtained from the continuous schemes derived via interpolation and collocation procedure. The schemes are consistent, zero stable, convergent and accurate. Taylor's series approximation was adapted as simultaneous numerical integrators over non-overlapping intervals values and for the implementation of the methods. These methods compared favorably with some existing methods because they are efficient and simple in terms of derivation and implementation.

Title | : | A New Complex Continuous Wavelet Family |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Mohammed Rayeezuddin || B Krishna Reddy |
Abstract:A family of functions is identified and all of its properties to be a complex continuous wavelet are
verified and are applied in analyzing time series by using popular software Matlab. We discuss the cross
wavelet spectrum and wavelet coherence using this new wavelet for examining relationships in time frequency
space between two time series. We demonstrate how phase angle statistics can be used to gain confidence in
causal relationships and test mechanistic models of physical relationships between the time series. The different
graphical representation provided by the wcoher.m function in Matlab is used.

Authors | : | Sheila Amuko |
Abstract:This presentation is based on a large study whose purpose was to explore the pedagogical practices in integration of ICT in teaching and learning mathematics in secondary schools in Nairobi County. The study adopted a descriptive survey design. Three instruments questionnaires', a structured interview schedule and an observation checklist were used to collect data. The study was carried out in twelve public secondary schools in Nairobi County. Data was analysed using descriptive statistics. Findings from the study indicated that, there were low levels of ICT integration, Mathematics teachers were not well prepared to integrate ICT in teaching Mathematics.

Title | : | Numerical Solution of linear first order Singular Systems Using He's Variational Iteration Method |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | S. Sekar || B. Venkatachalam alias Ravikumar |
Abstract:In this paper, He's Variational Iteration Method (HVIM) is used to study the linear time-invariant
and time-varying singular systems. The results obtained using He's Variational Iteration Method and the
methods taken from the literature [17] were compared with the exact solutions of the linear time-invariant and
time-varying singular systems. It is found that the solution obtained using the He's Variational Iteration Method
is closer to the exact solutions of the linear time-invariant and time-varying singular systems. Error graphs for
discrete and exact solutions are presented in a graphical form to highlight the efficiency of this method.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Bhaben Ch. Neog |
Abstract: In this paper, we present analytical solutions of some system of non-linear partial differential equations using Reduced Differential Transform Method (RDTM). The solutions are considered as infinite series expansions which converge rapidly to their exact solutions. Solutions obtained by RDTM are in close conformity with the exact solutions. The results obtained show that the RDTM technique is accurate and efficient and require less effort in comparison to the other analytical and numerical methods. Title | : | Foreign exchange transaction exposure within a newsvendor framework under hybrid demand distribution |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Sanjay Patel || Ravi Gor |
Abstract:We consider a global supply chain consisting of one retailer and one manufacturer, both from
different countries. As there is a time duration between the placement of the order and the order is acquired,
there is a possibility in the exchange rate fluctuation between the two countries. This affects the optimal pricing
and order quantity decisions of the retailer. In this paper we elaborate the derivations of analytic expressions
involving the transaction exposure when the retailer or manufacturer undertakes to share the exchange rate risk
under the generalized hybrid demand in the news vendor framework.

Abstract: The class of Volterra integral equation of second kind with smooth and weakly singular kernel is presented with the help of Taylor's series expansion method. Here we get approximate solution of the integral equation which can be expressed explicitly in a simple closed form. The method of solution of equations studied in the presented paper is very useful to solve the physical problems as radiative heat transfer, radiative equilibrium, potential theory and electrostatics. Abstract:This research paper deals with the optimality of Circular Neighbor Balanced Designs for total
effects when the observation errors are correlated according to second order circular stationary autoregressive
process. Few results pertaining to the optimality conditions under some specified conditions are provided and
the efficiencies of circular neighbor balanced designs relative to the optimal continuous block designs are also
investigated. The efficiency of the Circular Neighbor Balanced Designs is illustrated corresponding to the
optimal continuous block designs.

Authors | : | Mohammed Nasir Uddin || M.N.Huda || Aki Farhana || M.A.Alim |
Abstract:In the present paper, the effect of dimensionless parameter on mixed convection flow within a liddriven triangular cavity has been numerically investigated. The bottom wall of the cavity is considered as heated. Besides, the left and the inclined wall of the triangular cavity are assumed to be cool and adiabatic respectively. The cooled wall of the cavity is moving up in the vertical direction. The developed mathematical model is governed by the coupled equations of continuity, momentum and energy to determine the fluid flow and heat transfer characteristics in the cavity as a function of Rayleigh number, Prandtl number and the cavity aspect ratio.

Authors | : | Galadima . I J || E.N. Ekaka-a || I.A. Agwu |
Abstract:One of the techniques of studying the deterministic dynamics of the expected rate of inflation due to a changing duration of business in the unit of weeks depends on the process of mathematical modelling. The statistical measures of the impact of the actual rate of inflation on the stabilized steady-state expected rate of inflation were systematically calculated and discussed in this paper in the context of stabilizing this economic system. When the expected rate of inflation is 1.44, the statistical measures of the range, mean, variance, standard deviation and kurtosis are 0.44417472004, 0.27038055356, 0.01910049264, 0.13820453192 and 1.81433937992 indexed for the period of twenty (20) weeks when the initial expected rate of inflation is 0.035. We would expect this novel contribution to strength the other related knowledge-based results in numerical simulations, economic planning and economic policy on the control of the twin effects of inflation and unemployment on the social losses.
