Abstract: This paper presents the results of an experimental study conducted to develop and evaluate the performance of high strength green concrete using different combinations of supplementary cementing materials (SCMs) such as Fly Ash (FA), Slag cement (S), and Silica Fume (SF) which known as quarterly system. To investigate the Green concrete (GC) properties, six concrete mixtures were developed and tested. They were mixed, cast and cured under normal condition. Mixtures were designed to replace 50% of PC by combination of SCMs like FA, S, and SF (quarterly system). The quarterly system has a considerable influence on the workability of GC. It enhanced compressive...........

Abstract: Many trading companies claim that they produced devices that may reduce the fuel consumption in internal combustion engines, or what is called economizer. This Paper presents an experimental study of the efficiency of some fuel economizers suggested to be used in automobiles, and also make a check of such claims. The study includes both benzene and diesel engines. The experiments focus on fuel consumed by IC engines on both types in the unit of liter per hour and in CO% produced by such engines. The experimental tests show that such claims are not true, the fuel savings of such devices is of low rates, and also their contribution in CO
emission reduction is low.

Abstract: This scientific paper explains applying indexing method to district heating network risk assessment by using GIS. To determine efficiently the level of risk for each section of the district heating network modified program for steady state simulation SimNet SSV Heat was used. The method for adapting the assessment of the risk of a district heating network and the example of an assessment of the actual heat distribution network of a tree structure are described. The adaptive method for assessing the risks of district heating network has been based on the extended Muhlbauer method. Knowledge of the level of risk for individual sections of the district heating network allows for planning and carrying out maintenance work during the heating season. It allows to take action that minimizes and in some cases eliminates interruptions in the supply of heat to network customers..

Abstract: In recent times, the use of laser has gained popularity in micro machining applications due to the unique properties of the laser beam. Laser micromachining is used in the machining of a wide variety of materials including solar cells. However, this process faces challenges such as microcracking which can be as a result of incorrect combination of laser process parameters. The cutting process requires an optimal combination of cutting parameters which lead to excellent cut quality and quality solar cells. Indeed, the effects of each particular cutting parameter on the output parameters have not been well established for this process. This research is focused on investigating and optimizing the laser beam and process parameters on cut quality attributes of solar cells. The variables which were selected as input parameters are: the scan speed (v), the spot diameter (d), and the laser power..........

Abstract: Tool wear is an important factor that affects the quality and tolerance of machined parts. Tool failure in the machine can lead to unscheduled downtime and damage to the workpiece. Having an accurate prediction of tool life is important for machining industries to maintain the machined surface quality and can onsequently reduce inspection costs and increase productivity. The development in sensor technology has made possible online and real-time tool life prediction. Forecasting the tool degradation process is an effective way to realize remaining useful life of cutting tool. For this purpose, a condition indicator is required that can reflect the severity of degradation in tool in a proper manner. The specialty of condition indicators is to provide accurate information regarding the condition of..............

Abstract: Unstabilised lateritic blocks are low in compressive strength and dimensional stability. There is need to improve the quality of the blocks before utilisation. Corncob is an agricultural waste the disposal of which is not properly managed, constitutes environmental hazard, but, the ash possesses high binding qualities. Thus, this study evaluated the effectiveness of corncob ash as a stabilising agent in the production of lateritic blocks for building production. Physical and mechanical properties of the blocks were tested. A total of one hundred and five (105) blocks of size 110mmx220mmx70mm were produced. Samples were prepared for 0%, 30%, 40% and 50% separately for corncob ash and cement stabilisation............

Abstract: This work deals with Power Plants Technology. We here take an interest on how to maximize the work delivered by the steam turbines using the so-called Thermo Vacuum Pump (TVP). This work represents a design innovation paper proposed in a theoretical emphasis. There is a knowledge gap in utilizing the Condensation in maximizing the overall efficiency of the Thermal Power Plants. The paper basically aims to propose the TVP as a new method to close this gap where the Air Cold Condenser type is used.
Thermo vacuum pump (TVP) is a thermodynamic machine increases and controls the vacuum at the steam turbine outlet by circulating specific amount of condensate, or steam in some cases, and injecting it in engineering manner into the steam stream at...........
