Abstract: Student nurses must possess certain abilities to progress in their career; these can be assessed in various ways. Bandura's social cognitive theory identifies self-efficacy as a key psychological construct with regard to how people adapt to environments where new skills are developed. A non experimental methodological study was carried out to develop Nursing Competency Self Efficacy scale for nursing students . The conceptual framework used to guide this study was General System Theory (Ludwing Von Bertalanffy , 1968). Scale was prepared under five stages i;e conceptualization & item generation, preliminary evaluation, administration to development sample, analysis of scale development data and scale refinement and validation.
