Abstract: Our work was part of the search for new active molecules in the inflammatory process to relieve pain more effectively. Erythroxylum emarginatum is a plant distributed in tropical regions of South America, Africa, and Madagascar. The phytochemical screening has shown that the bark of stems contained more full of polyphenols than the leaves. Erythroxylum emarginatum is known for its anti-inflammatory properties, its use in the treatment of bronchial affections and especially during asthma. The comparative study of Erythroxylum emarginatum bark of stems aqueous and ethanolic extracts with diclofenac on induced inflammation of rat paw by carrageenan revealed anti-inflammatory properties of both extracts.......

Abstract: Background: Myrtus communis L. (MC) is widely used as an antidiabetic plant in folk medicine. This study aimed to analyze the possible antidiabetic and hepatoprotective effects of MC berries in streptozotocin (STZ)- induced diabetic rats. Methods: The study used a total of 30 rats in 6 groups of 5. DM was induced with a single injection of 40 mg/kg STZ, after which 3 of the groups were administered 250, 500 or 1000 mg/kg aqueous extract of MC berries by oral gavage for 14 days. Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), alkaline phosphatase (ALP), and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) levels were determined in the serum and glutathione (GSH), malondialdehyde (MDA) levels and superoxide dismutase (SOD) activity were determined in the liver tissue of the rats........

Abstract: Hepatoprotective effect of ethanolic and hexane:benzene:acetone (1:1:1) extracts of Pithecellobium dulce (EEPD and HBAPD respectively) in carbon tetra chloride (CCl4) and Isoniazid (INH) induced toxicity in wistar rats was evaluated. Two parallel sets of experiments were performed. Hepatotoxicity was induced by either single dose of CCl4 or regular doses of Isoniazid (100 mg/kg b.w., i.p.). In both experiments standard drug (100 mg/kg, p.o.) and test extracts (500 mg/kg. p.o. for both) were given for ten days. Serum liver function enzymes were estimated spectrophotometrically..........

Abstract: Urinary tract infections (UTI) are quite common in the community medical practice. The objective of our study was to know the prescription pattern of drugs used in the treatment of UTI. A retrospective observational study was conducted at Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore . The case records of 150 patients of either sex who were admitted to Father Muller college and hospital between May 2015 to April 2016 with diagnosis of UTI were studied. The incidence of UTI was more in females .Majority of patients were treated with antibiotics. Cephalosporins were most commonly prescribed group of antimicrobial agent followed by fluroquinolones.E.coli was the most common uropathogen isolated. Of 244 potential drug interactions noted, 54% were pharmacokinetic in nature..........

Abstract: Asthma is one of the most common chronic diseases in childhood. According to guidelines, a diagnosis of asthma should be confirmed using lung function testing in children aged >6 years. Previous studies indicate that asthma in children is probably over diagnosed. However, the extent has not previously been assessed. Our objective was to assess the extent and characteristics of confirmed and unconfirmed diagnoses of asthma in 290 children who were diagnosed by Central hospital as having asthma or who were treated as having asthma. Routine care registration data of children aged month to fourteen years who received a diagnosis of asthma or were treated as having asthma were analysed...........

Title	:	Assessment of Efficacy and Safety of Newly Formulated Natural Sun Protective Cream

Abstract: This research aims to formulate and evaluate the photo protective activity of an cream containing oil in water emulsion with different natural oils in varying proportions. The formulation is evaluated for its physical, chemical, microbiological and organoleptic properties for 28 days. The formulation was stable, white preparation with no recognisable irritancy when tested. SPF was determined to be 59.7 that can give both UV A and UV B protection. Aerobic microbial count was within the limit and there was no presence of Pseudomonas and yeast cells in the formulation...........

Abstract: The increasing emergence of Complex Neurological Disorders (NDDs) necessitates genotypic approaches to characterize therelevant phenotypes. The analysis of complex NDDs have shown that the genetics is fundamental to such diseases. Interestingly both mutations and polymorphisms are involved, occurring in a single gene or clusters of genes.MECP2 gene is found to be engaged in wide range of neurological disordersand hence a comprehensive investigation on this gene is required to underlie the aetiology of such alarming diseases.

Title	:	Effects of Industrial Waste on Genetic Variability of Pangasius hypophthalmus in Bangladesh

Abstract: The genotoxic effects of different industrial effluents on genetic variability of Thai Pangas, Pangasius hypophthalmus were examined by seven RAPD primers in this research. Pangasius hypophthalmus were collected from pollution free water bodies of Mymensingh district, Bangladesh as well as from industrial polluted water bodies of Narayanganj district of Bangladesh. Results indicated that, OPS-04 primer showed no band and except primer OPAK-04 other primes shown no polymorphism in Thai Pangas. None but the primer OPAK-04 showed 71.42% polymorphism along with the average polymorphism of 10.20% in these two specimens which was very negligible. The cluster analysis followed with the genetic distance (0.1542) and genetic identity (0.8571) clearly indicated a minor diversity in genetic level between the samples collected from Mymensingh and Narayanganj. As one primer showed a negligible polymorphism so may be there could be minor effects on genetic level by industrial effluents but the effects were not prominent..........
