Abstract: Aims and objectives: This study was conducted to determine the epidemiology, causes of infertility and treatment approaches. Materials and Methods: An observational study was conducted for a period of 3 months in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Necessary information was collected from patient case sheet, Investigation results and through medication history interview. Results: Out of 130 cases, Primary infertility (73%) was most commonly seen and Female factors were predominant over male factors. Among female ovarian cyst and Poly Cystic Ovarian Disease (PCOD) 36.1% was the most common etiological factor and semen factor (30.7% was the only factor in male. Ovulation induction therapy(86%) was the most common treatment approach followed by IUI(11%) and IVF(3%)..........

Abstract: Diabetes has been regarded as one of the major health problems wrecking havoc on the people especially the geriatrics. In Umuahia, diabetes is regarded as a serious health problems with high rate of mortality, morbidity and with serious health consequences. Currently plants are used by the natives to treat this disease. Hence the need for this study to ascertain medicinal plants with high cure rate but little side effects as synthetic antidiabetic drugs have been known to be associated with various serious and deleterious side effects. This is therefore a field trip conducted in Umuahia, Nigeria, to determine the various medicinal plants used by the natives in the management of diabetes.........

Abstract: A simple, rapid, precise, sensitive and reproducible reverse phase high performance liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method has been developed for the bio analytical method for Dienogest with Norethisterone as Internal Standard in pharmaceutical dosage form. Abstract: Background: With the increasing resistance to currently available anti-malarial drugs, the search for newer agents has become imperative. Clematis simensis is known for its anti-malarial use in the Ethiopian folklore medicine but no study has validated this claim so far. Therefore, the present study was intended to evaluate the anti-malarial activities of the crude extract and solvent fractions of the root part. Methods: The in vivo anti-malarial activities of hydro alcoholic crude extract, aqueous, chloroform and n-hexane fractions of C. simensis roots (at 100, 200,400 and 600 mg/kg) were evaluated using a chloroquine sensitive rodent malaria parasite, P. berghei in Swiss Albino mice. Abstract: Meloxicam and piroxicam are used as anti-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents in the treatment of arthritis, rheumatoid, acute and chronic pain in humans and animals, and are often accompanied by some side effects such as gastrointestinal disorders and urinary tract diseases. This study aimed to know the side effects of these drugs on fertility in male rats as a model for the effects that may arise in humans and animals. This laboratory study was conducted on 60 male white rats with a weight of 170-180 g. At the end of the injection of drugs one day, 2 weeks, 4 weeks and 8 weeks, five rats were taken from each group and slaughtered and the blood was taken in centrifuge tubes to prepare the serum for the hormone measurements (FSH, LH, Prolactin, Free and direct testosterone) preserved at -20 ° C until the measurements were performed.
