Abstract: This article discusses research in which the authors applied the Revised Universal Soil Loss Equation (RUSLE), remotesensing, and geographical information system (GIS) to the maping of soil erosion risk in Brazilian Amazonia. Soil map and soilsurvey data were used to develop the soil erodibility factor (K), and a digital elevation model image was used to generate thetopographic factor (LS). The cover-management factor (C) was developed based on vegetation, shade, and soil fraction imagesderived from spectral mixture analysis of a Landsat Enhanced Thematic Mapper Plus image. Abstract: Herein the relationships between porosity (Ф) and permeability (K), reservoir quality index (RQI) and flow zone indicator (FZI) were further verified and used to evaluate the selected reservoirs. This work is aimed at presenting porosity dependent equations for formation evaluation, through; (a) modification of traditional equations and (b) generation of curves/models for the estimation of K, RQI and FZI based on three fundamental ideas to aid the evaluation of the reservoirs flow units. Two reservoirs (R-M and R-N) were correlated across three wells (R-Da, R-Db and R-Dc) in Ritchie's Block, offshore Niger Delta. The equations (Tixier's, Timur's and Coates') for K determination and the expressions for RQI and FZI were modified and used for the evaluation of hydrocarbon potential of the two reservoirs mapped across the selected wells. Abstract: Abstract : The concept of ionospheric modifications is a part of a much more common class of research today known as "Active Experiments" in auroral plasma. The interaction of High power electromagnetic Radio waves with auroral plasma is one of that field which has been have been investigated by this study. Plasma in that auroral region might be illuminated via electromagnetic waves for a prolonged period and therefore, undergo accumulative resonances and perturbations due to its slow transport rates, weak convection and long lifetime of plasma, mainly nearby the peak of profile of ionospheric electron density. Abstract: The study area is located in the northwestern part of the Adamawa massif of northeastern Nigeria and lies between longitude 11050/ E and 120 00/ E and latitude 80 49/ N and 8055/ N. Lithologies of the area include: granite-gneisses, porphyritic granites, and biotite hornblende gneiss. A G-856 Memory-Mag TM proton precision magnetometer was used to acquire ground magnetic data of the area following a regular grid pattern. The magnetic data were subjected to diurnal correction and contoured using Surfer 11surface mapping software to produce a magnetic map. Areas characterized by anomalous magnetic values (34342 -34348 nT) are interpreted as areas of iron occurrences. The computer software WingLink was been used to generate 2-D subsurface geologic models for the computation of the depths to the anomalous bodies............

Abstract: Shallow lake basin fluvial-dominated delta front subfacies's sandbody are widely distributed, and the thin sand body, small scale and diversification as the main features, and they are quite different from delta front in the classic delta sedimentary model developed large-scale and thick estuary sand dam sedimentary. Abstract: An intergrated use of geo-electrical resistivity soundings and hydrogeologic methods were employed in the investigation for groundwater resource, evaluation and development around Obu-Okpella, near BUA cement factory, South-western Nigeria. The study area is underlain by Basement Complex rocks which consist of migmatites, granite gneiss and pegmatites. A total of 35 vertical electric soundings (VES) and four exploratory boreholes were carried out in the study. The geo-electric resistivity sounding data were interpreted using IXD interpex software and the VES interpretation revealed 4 geo-electric layers/lithologic units from the geo-electric parameters. Abstract: Reliability and quality of historical precipitation data are subjected to keen evaluation before a study in water resources, hydrological processes, and climate change fields. In this context, homogeneity tests emerge as a useful tool to control the data reliability and quality. In this study, the homogeneity of the annual and seasonal precipitation data throughout the north of Iraq was investigated using the Pettit, Standard Normal Homogeneity (SNH), Buishand (BR), and Von Neumann (VNR) tests at a significance level of 0.05. The geo-electric layers are- (1) Topsoil from 0 to 2.5m, (2) weathered basement from 3.3 to 49m, (3) Slightly weathered/Fresh basement from 5m to ∞, (4) Fractured basement ( ≥5 to 150m) and are characterised by resistivity value range of 14 to 297 ohm-m, 16 to 98 ohm-m, > 1000 ohm-m and < 50 to 31056 ohm-m respectively. Abstract: This paper aims to find out the land use/land cover change detection between the year 1990 and 2010 and also the factors for deforestation in Erode District, TamilNadu, India. SOI toposheets and satellite images Landsat TM and IRS LISS III satellite imageries were used to to identify the land use/land cover categories and the factors for deforestation through Remote Sensing and GIS approach ArcGIS 10.1 software were used to categorize the land use/land cover divisions . Remote Sensing and GIS provide dependable and accurate information than the traditional methods employed for such tasks. The thematic features of the area consisting of forest, crop land, industry, built-up land, road and waste land. Many change detection techniques were used.
