ABSTRACT: A study to identify constraints faced by small-scale fish farmers participating in Self-Reliance Economic Advancement Program (SEAP) in Oyo State was conducted. The study employed a multistage sampling technique to select 140 beneficiaries. Primary data were obtained using structured questionnaires and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Tobi regression. The study results showed that 90.71% of the respondents were male with mean age of 41 years. Most (74.29%) of the respondents were married with 99.29% having 1-4 household members. Most (56.43%) of the respondents also had secondary. The regression analysis revealed significant correlation between beneficiaries' livelihoods and factors such as age, primary occupation, membership of farmers' cooperative......

ABSTRACT: In order to improve the sensory quality of potato flour biscuit, the effects of baking process (kneading time, upper heating temperature, lower heating temperature, baking time) on the texture characteristics (hardness, crispy degree, brittleness) and sensory score of 30% potato flour biscuit were studied through single-factor experiments and response surface experiments. The optimal baking process conditions were obtained as follows: kneading time of 24 minutes, upper heating temperature of 148 °C, lower heating temperature of 158 °C, and baking time of 15 minutes. Under these conditions,......

ABSTRACT: Background: The search for the ideal substrate that does not burden the production system is the key to discovering different components that, together, may have all the physical and chemical characteristics suitable for full plants development. Therefore, it is essential to find cheap, local alternatives and, at the same time, dispose of materials with high pollutant potential, such as agro-industrial waste. The present study aimed to characterize the physical and chemical characteristics of substrates formed by different materials of different origin and quantities.......

ABSTRACT: This research aimed to examine the influence of varying levels of cow dung-poultry droppings (COPODs) and plant spacing on the growth and yield of different watermelon varieties. Four COPOD levels ([without COPODs], [4t + 1t COPODs], [8t + 2t COPODs], and [12t + 3t COPODs]), four plant spacing options (25, 50, 75, and 100 cm), and four watermelon varieties (Sugar baby, Koalack, Royal sweet, and Paradise) were combined in a factorial experiment to assess their effects on key growth metrics, including vine length, leaf production, fruit weight, and yield. The study found that increasing levels of COPODs and wider plant spacing significantly promoted vine length, leaf production, fruit weight, and overall yield.......

ABSTRACT: From an experiment with 30 lines and varieties, five oriental tobacco genotypes (four newly created lines and one standard variety) were selected and examined for: stalk height with and without inflorescence, number of leaves per stalk, length, width and leaf area from the middle beld of the stalk and yield of dry leaf mass per stalk, dekar and hectare. The trial was set up in the Experimental Field of Scientific Tobacco Institute – Prilep in 2022 and 2023, in randomized block design with four replications, using traditional agricultural practices. Measurements of the morphological characteristics were made at the stage of butonization and beginning of flowering. The yield of dry leaf mass was determined during the treatment of cured tobacco. The results were statistically processed........

ABSTRACT: Indonesia has natural conditions that are very supportive of horticultural growth, especially in the ornamental and consumer crops subsectors such as vegetables and fruits. Yogyakarta is one of the largest producers of ornamental plants in Indonesia. There has been a significant increase in the harvest area and production of several types of ornamental plants, such as aglaonema, which shows great potential for further development. The Covid-19 pandemic had a positive impact on the demand for ornamental plants, including aglaonema. People tend to seek new hobbies such as gardening or collecting ornamental plants to cope with stress and maintain mental health during periods of social distancing. Consumer preference for post-pandemic aglaonema in Sleman Regency is determined....

ABSTRACT: An experiment was conducted at the Horticulture division of Bangladesh Institute of Nuclear Agriculture (BINA), Mymensingh during the period from March, 2024 to June, 2024 to evaluate the quick propagation techniques from lemon leaves by using IBA under glass house and field condition. The experiment was consisted of two factors such as Environmental condition: (i) glass house and field condition and (ii) Different doses of IBA: D0 (Control), D1 (1000ppm IBA for 3mins) D2 (1500ppm IBA for 3mins) and D3 (2000ppm IBA for 3mins). Mature leaves were collected from BINA Lebu-1 mother plants. Collected leaves were exposed by different doses of IBA solution separately and also a control. The experiment was laid out in RCBD with three replications........

ABSTRACT: This study investigates the environmental impacts of disposable diaper absorbents on soil physico-chemical properties and their subsequent effects on maize (Zea mays L.) yield in Obubra Local Government Area, Cross River State, Nigeria. The increasing use of disposable diapers, particularly in regions with inadequate waste management, poses significant challenges to soil health due to the non-biodegradable nature of superabsorbent polymers (SAPs) and other materials contained within these products.
