Abstract: Background : The large amount of space taken on landfills by waste, the constant release of environmental polluting gases like CO₂ into the atmosphere and the high cost involved in cement production has led to the search for alternative binding materials that are cheap, ecofriendly and will help contribute to waste management. This research presents the findings of an experiment, set out to evaluate the performance of calcium carbide residues (CCR) and wood ash (WA) as partial replacements of cement in concrete. Materials and Methods: Mix ratios 1:2:4 and 1:3:6 was used to cast concrete cylinders of sizes 100mm x 200mm and concrete cubes of dimension 150 mm x 150 mm x 150 mm. The percentage replacement of cement with CCR/WA were 0%, 5% 10%, 15% and 20% (by weight of cement) respectively........

Abstract: Material management plays an important role in construction project management as it derives a major part of the cost and time of the project. Nowadays, ERP systems are rampantly used for various functions in Construction project management. The study aims to assess the efficacy and potency of ERP systems implementation for material management and analysis of cost versus benefit for the same. In this cross-sectional observational study, the researcher has derived data from six construction firms out of which three firms are not using ERP systems (Company A, B, and C) and three companies are using ERP systems (Company D, E, and F). data was collected from interviews of project managers and senior purchase executives. Abstract: Due to the worldwide energy crisis and rising global emissions, renewable energy research and development, particularly wind and solar, has exploded in recent years [1]. Wind turbines with a horizontal axis are not appropriate for home usage. As a result, the Savonius vertical axis wind turbine may be a safer choice due to its ability to operate in low wind circumstances [2]. The goal of this model is to point out how well it performs in various wind conditions compared to a traditional horizontal axis wind turbine, and to contribute to its steady rise in popularity as a reliable source of energy in the near future [3].
