ABSTRACT: Salmonellosis is a frontrunner in food-borne diseases with emerging public health concerns. This study aimed to characterise the virulence and antimicrobial resistance (AMR) of Salmonella spp. recovered from cattle meat within Ismailia City, Egypt. Out of 350 cattle meat samples, 43/350(12.3%) were positive for Salmonella species. Of 43 Salmonella strains identified serologically by using polyvalent and monovalent Salmonella antisera into 6 serovars; 17 Salmonella Muenster (39.5%), 15 S. Typhimurium (35%), 4 S. Kentucky (9.3%), 3 S. Anatum (7%), 3 S. Nyborg (7%) and one S. Livingstone (2.3%). All Salmonella serovars were resistant to≥1 and ≤ 13 antibiotics. Antimicrobial.......

ABSTRACT: Background: The Rohingya refugee crisis persists as a significant humanitarian issue on a global scale, as a large number of Rohingya individuals have been compelled to escape from violence and mistreatment in Myanmar, and are currently seeking shelter in nearby nations, predominantly Bangladesh. The Rohingya refugee community encounters a range of difficulties, such as overcrowded living conditions, restricted healthcare access and insufficient sanitation. Aim of the study: The aim of this research is to focus on gaining an insight into the knowledge, attitude and behavioral practices (KAP) relating to different communicable and non-communicable diseases among the Rohingya refugee population......

ABSTRACT: Background: There has been a lot of research on poultry around the world. But in Africa, and particularly in Ivory Coast, there are few data on chickens. This study is conducted on chickens of African breeds called «bicycle chickens» to compensate for the lack of data on this species. This work aims to combat avian influenza in Ivory Coast, by studying its impact on the respiratory system of farm chickens by histological technique. Materials and methods: The sample consists of twenty local chickens of both sexes. Macroscopic observation with the naked eye as well as observation using an electronic magnifying glass device allowed to detect lesions and ranges of viruses. Histological treatments and observation under an optical microscope have identified histopathological lesions in the respiratory system.....

ABSTRACT: Biochar and compost can greatly impact soil chemical and physical properties. Therefore, the aim of this study was to determine the effect of using biochar and compost on soil properties and mitigation of climate change impact. Compost, biochar, and biochar-compost mixture were added to the soil, soil organic matter (SOM) content, concentrations of the oxidizable organic carbon (OOC) and the total organic carbon (TOC)) were measured. The experiment was conducted in the National Agricultural Research Center, Al-Khaledeyyah Agricultural Research Station, Mafraq. Biochar and compost were added to soil individually at the percentages of 10%, 25%,.....

ABSTRACT: Background: Green grams farming plays a vital role in Tharaka Nithi and t he country at large by ensuring
food security, creating employment for rural households and greatly contributing to the national economy.
However, the infestation of pests on the green grams has drastically affectedits production in the country. Thi s
paper presents different types of insect pests attacking green grams in the field and the most resistant among the
selected green gram crop varieties in Tharaka sub count y of Kenya

ABSTRACT: Human exposure to lead poses serious public health problems owing to lead toxicity. It has been alleged that frequent intake of lead over can be detrimental to human health. This underscores why this study was carried out to evaluate the effects of lead acetate on the haematology and histology of male wistar rats at low dosage over a long period of time. Forty (40) adult wistar rats procured and housed at the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Pharmacology Teaching and Research Farm, University of Nigeria Nsukka. They were divided into 2 groups and replicated four times with 5 rats per replicate. The treated (group A) were dosed with 60mm/kg while the untreated.....
