ABSTRACT: The macro and micronutrient composition, pH, and absorptivity of manure from livestock and poultry differ. To increase the nutrient content of soils, several types of manure must be combined. One strategy to increase manure efficiency is mixing ratio optimization. This study aimed to ascertain the nutrient levels of manure from various farm animals and assess the interactions between the manure and the resulting nutrients. Polynomial equations were created as a mathematical model to tie the factors to the responses. The central composite design (CCD) of response surface methodology (RSM) was utilized to investigate the impact of different animal manures on macro nutrients that were chosen as responses.....

ABSTRACT: Onions are a highly prized spice due to their nutritional and medicinal properties. However, they face numerous diseases that reduce yields, with few studies conducted on the morphological diversity and effectivenes of fungal inoculation in stimulating growth and yield in Cameroon. Therefore, experiments were designed to characterise and study the plant response to inoculation with fungal endophytes and arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF). A factorial block design, comprising pots with sterilised soil from 3 agro-ecological zones (AEZ) in Cameroon and sand substrates, was employed to evaluate the effectiveness of these inoculations. A real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) was conducted on the fungal 28S gene.....

ABSTRACT: Village chicken farming is an integral part of the local economy, significantly enhancing household incomes and food security. This study investigated the socio-economic contributions and labor allocation of village chicken production in three selected districts {Heliwaa, Deyniile and Hodan} of the Benadir region, Somalia. The research examined various factors, including ownership patterns, gender roles in poultry management, and the distribution of labor among family members. The mode of ownership of chicken in the family was various types, for instance shared ownership constituted about (57%) followed by individual ownership (43%) among the members of the.....

ABSTRACT: A sixty-day feeding trial experiment was carried out in the Ministry of livestock production unit. Yola Adamawa State, Nigeria. To evaluate the molasses-urea block's nutritional uptake and utilization by Yankasa rams fed maize stover as basal diet. Twelve rams were adopted for two weeks and subjected to four treatments diets with three different blocks formulations served as supplements fed to T2, T3 and T4 while T1 (control group) with an initial weight of 20.67 to 21.06kg, daily fed intake ranged from 531.50 to 780.67g, daily weight gain -14.28 to 17.32g, final weight......

ABSTRACT: This study analyzed the utilization of improved rice technologies among rice farmers' cooperative societies in Ohaukwu L.G.A of Ebonyi State. Multi-stage sampling technique was used to select 96 cooperative rice farmers for the study. Data collection was done with both questionnaire and interview schedule. The data collected were analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. Result showed that majority of the cooperative rice farmers (77%) and were males and married(67%) respectively. The cooperative rice farmers had a mean age of 44 years, a mean household size of 7 persons, a mean farm size of 0.8 hectares in scattered plots which resulted to a mean annual income of N134,580, have stayed an average of 9 years in cooperative farming and a mean output of 2.7tons/ha while most of them (49%) had spent between 13 – 18 years in acquiring formal education. ABSTRACT: Agriculture supports the livelihoods of rural people in developing countries, including Kenya. Agriculture is the mainstay and driver of the Kenyan rural economy. Despite the critical role of agriculture in Kenya, poor access to extension support services persists. The study was carried out to establish the interactions between agricultural extension functions run by county and national governments as proxies for the years 2012 (before devolution) and 2016/2017 (after devolution). A total of 70 extension officers were sampled from Kitui County using a stratified random sampling approach. Secondary information sources such as national and county ministries' reports and existing.....
