Abstract: Background: Locking compression plate as an external fixator for the definitive management of open fracture of tibia decreases both cost and trauma to the soft tissue. Though LCP is mechanically less rigid construct compared to conventional external fixators, it is clinically stable enough to maintain the reduction. LCP is light weight, comfortable and convenient for patients in daily life activities. The aim of this study is to evaluate the results of locking compression plate used as an external fixator for the definitive management of open fracture of tibial diaphysis in 35 patients.
