Abstract: BACKGROUND - Adenosine deaminase (ADA) is suggested to modulate the bioactivity of insulin. The present study was undertaken to evaluate serum ADA activity and serum uric acid levels in patients of Type 2 DM. AIM: To evaluate the serum ADA level and to correlate ADA levels with Blood Glucose, Glycated Hemoglobin (HbA1c) levels in Type-2 DM patients. MATERIAL AND METHOD: It is a case control study. The subjects in this study were divided into 3 groups. Group I consisted of 50 normal healthy......

Abstract: The field of healthcare is an ever evolving landscape, constantly revealing intricate connections between different aspects of the body. One such intriguing link that has garnered attention in recent years is the relationship between oral health and eye health. Glaucoma and periodontitis, two seemingly unrelated conditions, have been the subject of research aiming to understand how one can influence the other. In this article, we delve into the fascinating connection between glaucoma and periodontitis and explore the potential implications for dental and eye care professionals........

Abstract: Hyperreaction luteinalis is most often bilateral and found incidentally at the time of ovarian cystectomy.. There are multiple benign ovarian lesions including hyperreactio luteinalis that can mimic ovarian neoplasms. However, HL may presents as an abdominal mass or acute abdomen. Hyperreactio luteinalis (HL) refers to moderate to marked cystic enlargement of the ovaries due to multiple benign theca lutein .The cause of this condition is unknown, but is believed to be related to elevated levels of, or abnormal ovarian response to, human chorionic and pituitary......

Abstract: Background: The increased risk of cardiovascular disease is attributed to the cluster of metabolic abnormalities known as hypothyroid patients affected with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). Most people with hypothyroid patients affected with T2DM also have several other metabolic problems, including high blood sugar, insulin resistance, and high blood pressure. Aim: To assess the effect of free T3 (FT3), free T4 (FT4), thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH), glucose profile, insulin, and Homoeostasis model assessment- estimated insulin resistance (HOMA-IR) in hypothyroid patients affected with T2DM........

Abstract: Extra Mammary Pagets Disease(EMPD) mostly involves areas rich in apocrine glands such as perianal area, perineum, vulva, axilla, mons pubis, glans penis and eyelids and rarely scrotum . EMPD is often seen in concurrence with an underlying visceral carcinoma but can also arise de novo. EMPD lesions may also be accompanied by adenocarcinoma in situ or invasive adenocarcinoma of the apocrine glands . The average age of presentation is usually between 58 and 67 and also has more preponderance to post menopausal women. Lesions clinically present as erosive plaques, scaly, eczematous and erythematous ulcers. Early identification is vital and requires high index of suspicion or else diagnosis is usually delayed. Here, we present a patient who had scrotal lesion with bilateral inguinal lymphnodal metastasis.

Abstract: Adenomyosis is ectopic endometrial tissue in myometrium and is a common occurrence. Endomyometritis is usually seen in postpartum period. A few cases of abscess formation in adenomyotic foci have been reported in literature, but very few reports of endomyometritis arising within adenomyosis appears in the literature. Here, we present a 50 year old female who was admitted with anemia and heavy menstrual bleeding. The hysterectomy specimen revealed myometrial trabeculations and extruded frank pus on cutting open. Microscopically the myometrium showed areas of adenomyosis with transmural dense neutrophilic cell infiltration. The lumen of the endometrial glands showed neutrophilic exudates. Final report of Acute endomyometritis with adenomyosis was made. The postoperative period of the patient was uneventful.

Abstract: The surgical removal of head and neck tumors frequently results in significant abnormalities, functional impairment, and deformity. The provision of a prosthesis is a crucial strategy for regaining physical and mental function. For patients with missing teeth, it has been claimed that the use of Osseo-integrated implants will increase retention and stability in the traditional obturator prosthesis. At the end of the follow-up periods, the clinical observations showed that inflammation had increased around implants with magnet attachments more than it had around implants with ball and socket attachments

Abstract: Background: Oral diseases present an overwhelming burden among the elderly population, coupled with other existing comorbidities provide a public health challenge that impairs the quality of life. Objectives: To assess the oral health related quality of life using the Geriatric Oral Health Assessment Index-Hi (GOHAI-Hi) amongst elderly population visiting the geriatric day care centers in New Delhi. Methods: A cross‑sectional study was conducted among seven purposively selected geriatric day care centers in New Delhi, and a convenience sample of 518 elderly patients was obtained. OHRQoL was measured using a pre-validated instrument (GOHAI-Hi) along with other variables. Statistical analysis was done using Statistical Package for the Social Sciences software version 28, and descriptive results were obtained.........

Abstract: Introduction: The liver is the organ most prone to abscess formation. Amoebic liver abscess a major health and socioeconomic problem in many parts of Africa, Asia, and Latin America.5 Amoebiasis is a common tropical disease characterized by dysentery caused by Entamoeba histolytica contamination of foods and water. Amoebic dysentery may occasionally complicate and create an abscess in the liver, resulting in an amoebic liver abscess.12 The diagnosis of ameobic liver abscess is based on clinical suspicion, laboratory findings, serologic tests, and a hepatic imaging examination. In only half of the cases, the protozoon is separated from the faeces.13,14,17
Aim of the study: The aim of this cross-sectional study was to assess the clinical profile of liver abscess in patients attending a tertiary referral hospital..........

Abstract: Introduction:-Hemophilia is a severe bleeding disorder, primarily caused by the inactivity of factor VIII and is inherited as an X-linked recessive trait. Although most cases are hereditary, 30% result from new mutations. Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) are most common mesenchymal tumors of gastrointestinal tract and are derived from interstitial cells of Cajal (ICC) - GI pacemaker cells. We present rare case of a 44 year old male who presented with upper GI bleed to emergency care. On evaluation he was diagnosed with hemophilia A and D2 duodenal GIST.......

Abstract: Introduction: Currently, available data indicates that long-term health risks associated with donor nephrectomy are pretty low. However, since live related donors form a formidable pool of kidney donors in our country & no available study from our country throws light on the incidence of potential complications like hypertension, proteinuria, and metabolic and renal functions post-donation, there is a need for a prospective study of living related kidney donors.........
