Country | : | India |

: | 10.9790/0837-2303033537 |
Abstract: Dispute relating to legitimacy of children arises in various types of quasi-marriages including live-in-relationship, when a child is born to parties. In such cases, it is easy to find that the male party denies any type of physical contact with the women and also the legitimacy of the child. Sec 112 of the Indian Evidence Act provides for the conclusive proof of legitimacy, if the child is born during the subsistence of a valid marriage. The male party is given the opportunity to deny the legitimacy of the child by adducing evidence of non-access. Non-access has been explained in depth, with the help of decided cases. Several useful tests are made for conducting DNA Tests and in case of refusal by the husband, legitimacy can be held to be established. Suitable amendments to existing Sec 112 of the Indian Evidence Act for providing Sec 120A, so that Disputes relating to legitimacy can be resolved.
Key Words: i) Legitimay ii) DNA Test iii) Conclusive Presumption iv) Proof of "Non-access‟ v) Insertion of Sec 112A

Title | : | The Contextualised Word Family Model of Direct Vocabulary Instruction |
Country | : | Malaysia |
Authors | : | Frankie Subon |
: | 10.9790/0837-2303035770 |
Abstract: A review on direct vocabulary instruction of past studies has contributed pertinent knowledge which has led to the formulation of a new theoretical perspective and the introduction of the Contextualised Word Family (CWF) Model. This proposed model offers a rich, systematic, structured and principled strategy of vocabulary acquisition. It is developed based on pertinent steps, models and principles of effective direct vocabulary instruction as revealed in literature of past studies. This model employs word families which are vital prerequisites for learners to function effectively in all the language skills. Besides, tier two or high frequency words are used to form the word families in this present model. It also integrates a contextualised approach and a word family to explicitly teach vocabulary to second language learners to boost their vocabulary acquisition and writing skills.
Key Words: word family, contextualized word family, direct vocabulary instruction, vocabulary size, vocabulary acquisition
