Abstract : Boolean algebra has played a significant role in the important and complicated task of designing electronic gadgetries. While it is desirable to get the minimal Boolean expressions in designing circuits, it is not necessarily uniquely available. In this paper, we present an algorithm for determining a Minimal Expression from the complete list of Prime Implicants.

Abstract : This study investigated magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) flow in a rotating system between stationary horizontal parallel plates with mass transfer through a porous medium. The equations governing the flow were non- dimensionalised and solved using Finite Difference (FD) methods in MATLAB. The effect on non-dimensional parameters on velocity and concentration profiles were analysed and presented graphically. The study revealed that an increase in the magnetic parameter and Grashof number led to a decrease in velocity. The findings have practical applications in engineering and industries such as polymer processing, glass fibre production, metallurgy, and paper production.

Abstract : This paper introduces an alternative approach to a well-established theorem in statistical theory, pertaining to the evaluation of the expected value of the reciprocal of the number of distinct units in multiple samples drawn independently and without replacement from a population. Designed with pedagogical considerations in mind, this new approach aims to make the theorem more accessible for teaching purposes. The paper emphasizes the theoretical underpinnings of the concept and its potential for assessing the diversity of any characteristic of interest in a sample, contributing to a broader understanding of this fundamental aspect of statistical theory.

Abstract : In the research of team sports such as ball games, the research method based on network science is in the stage of rapid development. Based on the data of 203 offensive rounds of Guangdong Dongguan bank basketball team in the second and third finals of China professional men's Basketball League (CBA) 2019-2020 season, this paper establishes a passing network model sequence with offensive rounds as the time axis, and discusses the relationship between the topology index of passing network and the success or failure of offensive rounds by using Logistic regression method. The results show that the average clustering coefficient and efficiency value in the passing network have significant influence on the success of offensive round. The probability of success of the offensive round will decrease with the increase of the clustering coefficient in the passing network, and the higher the efficiency value of the player handling the ball at the end of the round, the higher the success rate of the offensive round. Considering the unpredictability of the game, the result was reasonable..
Keywords – basketball offensive round; passing network; topology index; Logistic regression; factor analysis.

Abstract : In this paper, a design methodology for a ribbon-fin propulsor inspired by electric black ghost knifefish is introduced based on the machine learning concept. In this regard, an artificial multi-layer perceptron neural network (MLPR) is designed and trained based on the available experimental data. Afterward, the proposed MLPR is coupled with an evolutionary optimization technique, i.e. breeder genetic algorithm (BGA), towards an optimum design strategy. The results show the robustness and effectiveness of the introduced approach to design and control of this kind of bio-inspired propulsion systems. The outcome of the study also demonstrates capability of the proposed approach to provide a deeper insight into the design hyperspace, via generalization of the experimental data.
