Title | : | A Review Article on Acrylic PMMA |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Eshwar Pawar |
Abstract: In the plastics industry most of the acrylics are the polymers of methyl methacrylate (PMMA). Acrylics can be available in various forms such as molding powder or casting syrups. They are mostly known for the exceptional clarity and optical properties in various fields. Acrylics are mostly used in production of fixtures because of the properties such as slow burning or self-extinguishing. The present paper covers what is acrylic, what are the various uses of acrylic, usage of acrylic in the future technology etc. Possible areas in which acrylic can serve as a useful option are also covered........

Title | : | Infrastructure Development: A Public-Private Partnership Option in the Attainment of Value for Money |
Country | : | United Kingdom |
Authors | : | Adamu Mudi |
Abstract: Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs) are strategies employed in the provision and development of both social and economic infrastructure facilities in many countries of the word. It is a contractual arrangement between the public and private sector through which the expertise, skills, assets and financial resources of both the public and private sectors are allocated in such a manner that provides optimal service delivery and good value to the public. The major feature in the implementation and operation of PPPs in the development and provision of infrastructure facilities is the systematic evaluation and selection of development proposals that delivers value from the money invested in the transaction.......

Title | : | Effect of End Obstruction for optimum performance of Modified Vortex Tube with Dual Forced Vortex Flow |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | G.Maruthi Prasad Yadav || P.Mallikarjuna Reddy and B. Durga Prasad |
Abstract: In the present work the cone-shaped valve at the hot end of existing model is replaced with a hollow cone-shaped valve gives a provision for passage through the inner core. A conical valve is introduced at the orifice, guide the forced vortex yet again to strike back evolve one more forced vortex flow, which escapes through the central core of the hollow cone-shaped valve. Thus the revised vortex tube with two forced vortex flows is named as dual forced flow vortex tube (DFFVT)......

Title | : | Bagasse Based High Pressure Co-Generation in Pakistan |
Country | : | Pakistan |
Authors | : | Roman Ahmad |
Abstract: The paper reports on the assessment of the use of bagasse in sugar industry for high pressure cogeneration. Study was done on a sugar mill which has recently adopted this technology. This paper investigates the efficiency of season and off season operation of sugar mill, high pressure cogeneration technology is much more efficient in bagasse to steam ratio. During seasonal operation CHP efficiency is 76.8% and during offseason its value is 29.9%.Project initial cost is high but payback period is low. It will encourage other sugar mills in Pakistan for the development of high pressure co-generation system to meet increasing energy demands in the country.

Title | : | Design of Nonlinear Piping Water System Network by Using Newton Raphson Method |
Country | : | Libya. |
Authors | : | Abdulhamid El Idris Saad |
Abstract: Cost of electricity and material of the network that consists of a reservoir that gives water to five tanks in different places has reasonable effects by using Newton Raphson methods. In the first design, the cost of electricity was 270936.44$ compare to 293913$ of the second design. Newton Raphson method was used in the first design to get the diameters and the head (the input power). In the second design, the fact of the average velocity of pipe network between (0.899m/s-2.097m/s) was used to get the diameters and the head. Small diameters give less cost of materials but they increase the head which increase the cost of electricity. However, large diameters give high cost of materials but they decrease the head which decreases the cost of electricity.

Title | : | Design Analysis and Fabrication Steps of MEMS Humidity Sensor for Automobile Applications |
Country | : | Jordan |
Authors | : | Fadi Al Faqs and "Moh'd Sami" Ashhab |
Abstract: Humidity measurement plays a major role in various industries and energy applications. Monitoring and controlling the humidity is of great importance for the reliable operation of various systems. One of the techniques for measuring humidity is the use of absorption capabilities of polymers. Humidity variations change the electrical permittivity of polymers. Therefore, if the polymer is placed between the two plates of a capacitor, the value of the capacitance which can be practically measured becomes a measure for humidity..........

Abstract: Soil stabilization means alteration of the soil properties by the addition of any other material to meet the specified engineering requirements. Methods for the stabilization are compaction and use of admixtures. Use of shredded rubber tyres in geotechnical engineering for enhancing the soil properties has received great attention in the recent times. The aim of the study was to use the waste material for stabilization of soil in order to reduce the environmental impact. Several reinforcement methods are available for stabilizing soils.......

Abstract: Casting defects reduces the total output of castings. It is essential to understand the causes behind these defects. This paper discusses the research carried out in the foundry to control the increased rejection. The component under study is 3 cylinder metric block. The dimensional variations in casting wall thickness are analyzed as major defect contributing in rejection. Quality control tools such as Pareto analysis, cause and effect diagram, why-why analysis, are used for analysis of casting defects.......

Abstract: When it comes to civil engineering, concrete is an inevitable building material. As we all know, concrete is good in compression but weaker under tensile forces, there is a need of concrete composites with better tensile strength. Also with the increasing global warming and pollution, need of the present world is environment friendly natural additives to cast concrete so as to minimize the pollution effect. Among natural fibres, coir fibre has maximum amount of lignin giving maximum tensile strength as well as are durable in
nature. This paper presents an experimental study of coir fibre reinforced concrete and its strength comparison with plain cement concrete.........

Authors | : | C.Nivetha1, S.Subraja || R.Sowmya || N.M.Induja |
Abstract: The concept of using phytoremediation to treat wastewater has received a good recognition. Release of untreated domestic wastewater into the environment has negative influence on the environment. Phytoremediation (using aquatic plants) has good efficiency in removing pollutants in domestic effluents. It is economically beneficial, environment friendly and no energy is required in this treatment process. The main objective of this study was to determine the nutrient (nitrogen and phosphate) removal efficiency of water
lettuce from sewage.........

Abstract: In metal cutting, heat generated on the cutting tool tip is important for the performance of the tool and quality of the finished product. The effect of the cutting temperature, particularly when it is high, is mostly detrimental to both tool and work piece. The machining and tool life can be improved by the knowledge of cutting temperature on the tool tip. In this mini project we are evaluating the variation of different parameters on cutting temperature..........

Title | : | Modal Analysis Of High Speed Milling Spindle By Experimental Approach |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Suhas D. Upase || M. C. Swami |
Abstract: In this paper we determine the natural frequency of highest speed milling spindle for length 335.4mm and 16000 rpm speed based on modal analysis. This paper taking the high speed milling spimdle of M.S. bar which is derived and presented by using finite element model in ansys software.This model takes into account bearing support contact interface , which is established by spring damper element COMBIN 14 for giving cushioning effect to spindle.Furthermore, the modal analysis has done by means of Ansys commercial software..........
