Abstract: The Ogunpa River disaster in 1980 claimed over 200 lives and resulted in millions of dollars' worth of property damage within Ibadan. There exist paucity of information in the area of sediment transport modelling on the river. In this study, sediment yield parameters were determined to enable sediment transport modelling on the river. The river was divided into 12 different horizontal sections and the corresponding (water surface/bed) elevation against the different horizontal distances were measured in December 2015 using surveying equipment. Abstract: Around 20% of the world total energy consumed by pumps. Centrifugal pump is the most common type used in all industrial and agriculture application. The challenge is how to save the energy consumption due to pump work. Slip factor is the most important parameter which effect on the efficiency of the centrifugal pump. In the present paper, the performance of a centrifugal pump with specific speed 46 is studied numerically and experimentally and the slip factor is predicted numerically. The effect of adding short blades with varying the outlet blade angle of the shorted blades also is studied experimentally and numerically. The numerical result of two cases of the impeller, with and without short blades, has a good agreement with the numerical one. Adding short blade has a good effect on the slip factor magnitude which improved by 21 %. Also the total efficiency of the centrifugal pump increase by 1.9 %.

Abstract: The use of slender concrete columns has been of a significant rise lately, with the affordability & availability of high-strength concrete, and the advancement of design methods. Despite this trend, the design provisions for the slender columns haven't been changed significantly since its inception.Better understanding, as well as improved design provisions, for the slender concrete columns can allow for extended use whereas maintaining safety.The objective of this research is an improved understanding of the slender concrete column's behavior and limits, and to develop an improved procedure, in order to be incorporated into building codes.In this paper, a parametric study of 2520 specimens using analytical software shall be presented to exhibit behavior of braced slender concrete columns.Also, several portions of the slender column provisions in the Eurocode are of interest for advancement.A new method will be offered aiming to correct the Eurocode's nominal curvature method which underestimates the columns curvatures under the balance loads.Also, various code provisions and methods that predict the behavior of the slender concrete columns, will be put to comparison.The studies shall include isolated and braced slender concrete columns.

Abstract: In reinforced concrete construction, foundation is the part of a structure that is usually placed below the surface of the ground to transmit the load to the underlying soil and rock. Spread footing supporting more than one column or walls is termed as combined footing. Combined footings are provided in two different situations: (a) if a column is very near or adjacent to the property line, single-column footings cannot be provided without projecting beyond that line; (b) if more than one columns or walls very close to each other, individual footings overlaps each other. In an individual footing, reinforcements for flexural moments are provided at the bottom. In contrast to individual footings, reinforcements in combined footing are generally seen on both faces: top and bottom due to flexural moment.......
