Abstract: The growing demand for natural aggregates in concrete production has led to concerns regarding the environmental impact and depletion of resources. This research investigates the mechanical properties of concrete modified with coconut shells and crushed glass as partial substitutes for conventional aggregates, aiming to promote sustainable construction practices. Various replacement levels (0%, 6%, 12%, 18%, 24%, and 30% by weight) were tested in M30 concrete mixes using Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and natural aggregates. The findings reveal significant alterations in concrete properties due to these substitutions. While coconut shells led to a modest reduction.....

Abstract: This study investigates the potential of lightweight concrete formulated with recycled coconut shells (CS) and glass Pieces (GP) as partial substitutes for conventional aggregates. With a focus on sustainability, the study explores the impact of varying proportions of CS and GF on the mechanical properties, durability, and workability of concrete. The study meticulously examines the mechanical and performance characteristics of concrete mixtures where varying proportions of coconut shells and crushed glass serve as substitutes for conventional coarse aggregates. Notably, the composite aggregate mix achieved a maximum impact value of 34.05%, reflecting a remarkable 55.55% enhancement from the baseline value of 21.89%. Abstract: Time delay in the construction industry is a global problem and considered as one of the most significant problems worldwide. Libyan construction industry is also no exception to it, and it is known that to consider the project successful is complete on time within predicted costt. As a result of many reasons, this is more noticeably in developing countries as time delay is a normal result of poor project performance. In Libyan construction industry, budget overrun and time extension are the main problems facing all project parties including clients, contractors, subcontractors and suppliers. Abstract: In recent years, the eco-friendly management of plastic waste has become a global area of interest. Some methods, such as incineration and landfilling, have been explored; however, they cause severe environmental impacts. Pyrolysis of plastic waste presents an environmentally friendly alternative for managing plastics. Through pyrolysis, plastic waste can be converted into hydrocarbon fuel, which can then be used in internal combustion engines to generate power and heat.
