Abstract: Background: Despite progress in Kenya’s PMTCT program, mother-to-child transmission (MTCT) rates remain above the national target, with Machakos County recording 9.1%. This study examined barriers to elimination of MTCT in Machakos County. Methods: A facility- based cross-sectional study was conducted among HIV-positive mothers and their HIV- exposed infants enrolled between 2019 and 2021.
