Abstract: The magnitude of parasitic infestation among children constitutes a major public health problem in many parts of the world. In India, 87.5% of the sludge samples were positive with ascaris, toxocara, trichuris and hook worm. The poor standard of living includes improper disposal of faecal and other wastes, overcrowding, unhygienic health practices and poor environmental sanitation. All these lead to various experiences such as malnutrition and worm infestation. The aim of this study was to describe the effectiveness of teaching programme on round worm infestation among middle school children.

Abstract: Background: Adolescent girls often lack knowledge regarding reproductive health including menstruation which can be due to socio-cultural barriers in which they grow up. The menstrual hygiene related practices of female in the adolescence period can have effect on their health. Issues associated with menstruation are never discussed openly and this burdens adolescent girls by keeping them ignorant of this biological function. Among the various sub groups of women, reproductive health of married adolescence and young women is of crucial and especially in a state like Andhra Pradesh.

Abstract: The formation and dissolution of marital relationships have important implications for individual wellbeing and for society. Stable partnerships are associated with higher incomes, improved health and happiness, and positive child outcomes. (1) The definition of marriage varies according to different cultures, but it is principally an institution in which interpersonal relationships, usually intimate and sexual, are acknowledged. When defined broadly, marriage is considered a cultural universal. In many cultures, marriage is formalized via a wedding ceremony.

Abstract: Neck disorders remain a common problem in modern industrialized countries. Neck pain has been the most common chief complaint among working aged men and women29,38. Kasch H, Bach FW, Stengaard-Pedersen K, Jensen TS, Devereaux MW, Phero JC, neck pain may originate from any of the structures in the neck. These include muscles and nerves as well as the spine and the cushioning discs in between. Neck pain may also come from regions near the neck, like the shoulder, jaw, head, and upper arms. When your neck is sore, you may have difficulty moving it, especially to one side. Many people describe this as having a stiff neck13,26,32.

Abstract: Cancer is a major public health problem of the world. Diagnosis of cancer has a significant impact not only on patient, but also on their family caregivers. Therefore cancer has a substantial impact on both patients and families. Objectives of the study were to assess the Quality of Life (QOL) among caregivers and to find the association between mean score of quality of life of family caregivers with selected variables. A cross sectional study was done among 399 family caregivers those who are providing care to the hospitalized patients with advanced cancer. A non probability purposive sampling was used to select family caregivers by using structured and validated questionnaire on quality of life. Data were collected by interview technique from caregivers. Result shows that majority of family caregivers were in the age group of 20-40yrs (53.6%), most of the family members had to stop working, and most of them lost their savings. Majority of the family caregivers expressed that 'financial burden' had negative influence on the quality of life. The mean Quality Of Life was 63.36 and SD was 15.73. The present study suggests that to improve QOL of caregivers, measures should be taken to decrease the economic burden that cancer places on patient's family. It also revealed that increasing the self- confidence of family care givers in managing cancer pain is vital to the quality of life of both the patient and caregiver.
