Abstract: Ten representative samples of Yolde formation exposed at Gabukka village were analyzed for major oxides (Al2O3, SiO2, K2O, CaO, Fe2O, Na₂O, MgO, MnO, P2O5, TiO2 and Cl) using X-ray fluorescence (XRF). The major oxide concentration indicate dominance of Cl ranges from 177 to 367 with (avg. 257.2 wt. %), SiO2 ranges from 62.5 to 70.3 with (avg. 66.46 wt. %), Al2O3 content ranges from 18.5 to 21 with (avg. 20.17 wt. %). Fe2O3 ranges from 2.29 to 5.78 with (avg. 4.515 wt. %). K2O, Cao, and TiO2 have an average concentration of 3.805, 1.5708 and 1.361 wt. % respectively.......

Abstract: The systematic variations of a variable or set of variables in time and space can be solved by using a least-squares technique that finds the line of best fit through a scatter graph of a set of data points visualising the relationship between the variables. Deterministic functions such as polynomials or a curved line can be employed to describe a trend in fluctuating data. The polynomial degree can be determined by the number of fluctuations in the data or by the number of hills or valleys that appear in the curve. The second order-order trend, for example, has only one hill, while the third order has one or two hills or valleys. The trend function in Excel is a statistical function that computes the predictive value of Y for a given array of values of X using the least squares method based on the given data series........
