Abstract: The objective of performing a trend analysis is to identify a trend in the data by fitting polynomial functions to the dataset, selecting the best polynomial to use to simplify and analyse the data so obvious yet not revealed by the lines and surfaces using a statistical curve fitting technique that accomplishes "best-fitting' a series of polynomials by the least-squares criterion of multiple regression, and then using this trend surface for performing spatial interpolation, given the geographic coordinates of the location. While mapping, polynomial power was set at 3 or cubic, which gives a better recognisable pattern than the original raw data.

Abstract: Conglomerate occur in southeastern part of the Niger Delta Basin where they are being quarried for construction purposes. Pebble morphometric analysis was carried out in order to ascertain the environment of deposition of the conglomerate deposits. The pebble morphometric analysis of the conglomerates showed that the mean values of the various morphometric parameters range as follows: flatness ratio (S/L = 45.10 – 71.83), elongation ratio (I/L = 0.5022 – 0.8638), maximum....

Abstract: The Cretaceous rocks exposed between Wadi Um Lug and Wadi Qiseib in the Northern Galala, North Eastern Desert, are investigated and described for their lithologies and foraminiferal content. The studied Cretaceous succession (Lat. 29° 31' 58.6" N and Long. 32° 22' 2.7" E) is measured and sampled for 41 rock samples. Lithologically, the Cretaceous sequence is differentiated into two rock units which are; Malha Formation (Albian) and Galala Formation (Cenomanian). The micropaleontological (foraminiferal) study helps in the recognition of five foraminiferal biozons which are stratigraphically arranged as following: Ammodiscus kiowensis Total Range Zone in the Lower Cretaceous (Albian), in addition to Haplophragmoides eggeri - Trochammina sukhnaensis Assemblage Zone, Ismailia spp.- Daxia spp. Assemblage Zone, Ammobaculoides plummerae - Haplophragmoides gilberti Assemblage Zone and Nezzazata spp. - Trochospira ssp. Assemblage Zone in the Upper Cretaceous (Cenomanian).

Abstract: This research work focused on characterizing the reservoir rocks, defining the stratigraphic and structural pattern of the Pira_J field deep water offshore Niger Delta Basin, Nigeria using seismic and well data from five wells. In other to achieve this, seismic attributes and petrophysical analyses were integrated using the PETREL Software. Seven hydrocarbon reservoir bearing units, namely RES_01, RES_02, RES_03, RES_04, RES_05, RES_06 and RES_07 were identified from wireline logs. Out of the seven reservoir tops-tie-to-seismic horizons, only five were mapped out (because they contained all the needed data) to create time structural maps. The time structural maps were then converted....

Abstract: Groundwater is very essential to humans and as such its importance cannot be over emphasized. This study aims to conduct the qualitative analysis of the physic-chemical parameters of groundwater in BOSU and Njimtilo areas of Maiduguri, Borno State in order to delineate the suitability of the water for drinking and whether its chemistry has direct link to the acute renal diseases reported among the inhabitants of Maiduguri metropolis. Ten (10) samples were collected from motorized boreholes and/or hand pumps, and sent to the laboratory for analysis to determine the concentration of Cd, Pb, Ni, K, Mg, and Ca. The values of the physic-chemical parameters obtained were compared with the WHO (2022) standard permissible limit for drinking water. The concentration.....

Abstract: This research work was carried out in order to investigate the effectiveness of Hydrochemical facies in delineating compartmentalized reservoirs in an X-field, Niger Delta Basin, Southern Nigeria. In order to achieve the set goal of delineating compartmentalized reservoirs within the field. Five formation water samples were subjected to hydrochemical analysis in order to determine the hydrochemical facies present in the formation water. Five other hydrochemical facies results were obtained from the well completion report. The samples were subjected to standard laboratory.....
