ABSTRACT: Many forms of radiation known as "ionizing radiations" are encountered in the natural environment some of which are produced by modern technology. Most of them have the potential for both beneficial and harmful effects. These radiations can disrupt atoms, creating positive ions and negative electrons, and cause harm. Ionizing radiations include x-rays, gamma rays, alpha particle, beta particles, neutrons and the varieties of cosmic rays. This paper is based on the measurement of gamma radiation from selected refuse dumpsites in Yola metropolis, North-Eastern Nigeria. Background ionization radiation measurements were carried out in five refuse dumpsites. An in situ measurement was done using a well calibrated nuclear radiation meter, RADALART MONITOR-4. Readings were taken once in a week for a.........

ABSTRACT: Nano science and nanotechnology involves studying and working with matter on an ultra small scale from sub nanometer to several hundred nanometers. The synthesis of nano particles has been considered as a preferred field in the nanotechnology sector due to size dependent properties of the materials. The wide band gap semiconductors like ZnO (3.3 eV) has gained a lot of attention among semiconductor materials due to their potential applications in optoelectronic devices in the visible and UV regions. In this paper, the structural parameters of pure and cobalt substituted ZnO nanoparticles sintered at 4500C have been analysed to utilize them in the technological based applications using X-ray diffraction (XRD) technique.

ABSTRACT: This article uses and develops the effects and results of the New axioms and Laws described in the previous articles. New axioms and relevant Laws are necessary to extend the theory of Electromagnetic Field to a new field including and the Gravitational Field . The main difference between the Electromagnetic and the Gravitational fields is that the Electromagnetic Field is an even (equal in measure ) movement , but the Gravitational Field is uneven (not equal in measure )i.e. it is an accelerating or decelerating movement. The
New axioms have a new approach - substitution of closed, even(uniform) vortices from the Electromagnetic Field with open and uneven vortices of the Gravitational Field. As a result, the following properties and relationships are obtained in 2D: electric charge............

ABSTRACT: Three sample thin film of Blue 8GX have been prepared by spray pyrolysis method onglass substrate with thicknesses (743, 457 and 95 nm). The optical parameters such as the optical energy gap were calculated for Blue 8GX dye thin films by using spectrophotometer (UV mini 1240 spectrophotometer made in a Japanese company called Shimadzu) measurements of the absorption in the spectral range (580 to 700) nm. The optical energy gap was estimated from absorption coefficient. The optical energy gap was found in range (1.968, 1.973 and 1.977) eV forBlue 8GX dye samples.

ABSTRACT: We examine the phenomena of evaporation and condensation. The main argument of our research is related to the event of formation of boundary layers in nature. The research is a proposal for a model describing some phenomena based on current but not fully proved knowledge. We claim that evaporation and condensation are the most efficient ways of transport of heat and therefore could be described in some aspects by a Carnot cycle..

ABSTRACT: The vision of an object, in spite of observed directly at the observation point, can be constructed by integrating the images of the object observed at a reference point during a period of time. Similarly, the vision of a photon (Vision of Light) observed at an observation point can also be constructed from the images of the photon observed at the light origin. When a photon emitted from a light source, it travels under two influences, ejection motion and inertia motion. On one hand, photon travels at a constant Absolute Light Speed (3 x 108 m/s) in its trajectory because of the constant ejection force caused in the photon emission process; one the other hand, it is dragged into a direction and speed the same as that of the light source due to Photon Inertia Transformation.........

ABSTRACT: Thin films of Ag-Te compound of varying thicknesses have been deposited on glass substrate employing three temperature method. The temperature coefficient of resistance (TCR) was studied as a function of thickness for Ag-Te thin films at [Ag] >50 at. wt. % and < 50 at. wt. %. The temperature dependent phase change from semiconducting to metallic for the composition of [Ag] > 50 at. wt. % in Ag-Te thin films. The T.C.R.is negative for semiconducting Ag-Te films with [Ag] < 54 at.wt. %, irrespective of thickness and temperature. For [Ag] > 54 at.wt. % is negative in low temperature region (T< 413 K) and positive in high temperature region (T > 413 K).

ABSTRACT: The purpose of this article is to unify the four forces of the universe, and to show that contrary to what Einstein imagined, gravitational force is not due to the deformation of space by the bodies but rather to the pressure exerted by space on all the bodies. ABSTRACT: In the framework of the preformed-cluster model, a simple method for calculating α-decay half-lives ( 1/2 T ) of even-even nuclei in the range 90 ≤ p Z ≤ 122 and 112 ≤ p N ≤ 190 is derived using the WKB approximation Then, the neutron number variation of log(T1/2 )is studied to explore nucleon magic numbers. As a result, the predicted neutron and proton magic numbers are N=126, 162, 178 and 184 and Z=108, 114, 118 and 120, respectively, which are found in consistent with those predicted in other studies.

ABSTRACT: On the basis of a more general expression of the energy conservation law in inhomogeneous current-carrying systems, the erroneousness of the widespread opinion has been revealed, as if the magnetic field does not perform work. It is shown that magnetic forces and their moments perform two types of work, corresponding to the forward and rotational motion of charges, and their velocities play the role of vector potentials of these fields. The corresponding "longitudinal" and "vortex" components of the magnetic field are found and the error in the interpretation of their isopotential lines as force lines is revealed. The incorrectness of a number of related concepts is discussed, including the inconsistency of attempts to materialize force fields, and the force effects analogous to magnetism are predicted..

ABSTRACT: We investigate the nuclear structure of 96-98Ru using the modified three parameters rotational (TPR) model. In this model we used the origin equation of the nuclei energy without the additional part that used in the old model. This modified model can be applied on the all range of the nuclei mass numbers. To mention few, and as a limitation, we applied this model on the medium mass nuclei. Energy levels of low lying states have been calculated for ground state bands. The results were compared with experimental data and acceptable agreement are obtained. The nuclear moments of inertia were calculated and compared with available experimental data. From the results of calculation it is found that model is suitable for description of nuclear structure of these nuclei, specially the collectivity properties.

ABSTRACT: Argon implanted methyl methacrylate sheets were subjected to Soft X-rays detection studies at room temperature. It is found that such sheets show high mobility lifetime product, low thermally generated charges at room temperature and high photelectric absorption of X-rays in the range 35KeV. X-ray switching studies conducted on these sheets show low rise and fall time making the material good for imaging applications.
