Abstract: Outsourcing of training is considered as a major management challenge in the turbulent environment with respect to the increase in the trends of technology and business needs. Due to this increase in business needs, there is more pressure on the companies to put more efforts on the training and development arena and ensure that they do not become obsolete in the market. And outsourcing on need basis has been broadly accepted as a more cost-effective method for creating or delivering training modules especially for IT companies. Another major challenge of IT industry (especially in India) is Globalization of the employees across other countries. To address the training needs on a global perspective, Virtual Training is a one- stop solution. With the option of Virtual Training available to the employees, that they can enhance their knowledge and cope up with the demands and trends irrespective of the location and time constraint. Many IT companies have started allocating their budgets to enable this option of online based or web-based learning interventions for their employee's skill development. However, there is still a gap prevailing among the consultants with respect to equipping themselves to move towards the Virtual Training delivery model and most of the consultants are still hesitant to move towards Virtual Training and still restricting with the formal classroom delivery mode. Thus, this paper would explore and analyze the 360 degree perspective of Virtual Training, to identify the gaps (difficulty level) in implementing Virtual Trainings (from a consultant's point of view) and to provide solutions to bridge the gap.

Abstract: This study examined the effect of Company Income Tax [CIT] on investment decisions of companies liable under the CIT Act in Nigeria. Questionnaire was designed to collect data from 180 companies in the South West Zone. Findings revealed that CIT has influence on the rate of return on investment, and investment evaluation criteria. Tax incentives motivate investment and on the overall, tax was considered to be very important when compared with other factors affecting investment decisions. Part of the recommendations was that tax policy should aim at fostering economic growth: investment in new capital encourages implementation of new production techniques and introduction of new products.

Title | : | The Anomalous Position of Trustee to Debenture In Nigeria |
Country | : | Nigeria |
Authors | : | KunleAina |

Abstract: The Company is empowered by Law to raise money for its undertakings by either selling its shares or by direct debt finance; this is by approaching the financial institutions for loans to pursue their business plans. The most accessible form of external finance for companies is a loan from a financial institution. The loan capital markets represent an important feature on the corporate fiancé landscape.1 Whilst it may be easy to raise debt capital from the Banks, or other financial institution, they will not wish to take risks, and so will insist on taking a form of security for the loan. The indebtedness of the company to the financial institution is generally acknowledged by way of debenture. In some cases, the company may wish to raise a large capital by simply soliciting the funds from the general public. This may be similar to creating securities in form of shares. The company will simply create a form of security instrument known as debenture stock, this enables many investors to be able to invest in the securities at the same time and on the same terms. The sale of the securities iseffected mainly through the stock market or exchanges specified by the agreements and backed by law. The debenture trust deed sets out the voting rights and meetings of the debenture holders. A very important issue here is that the company appoints a trustee under the Trust Deed who acts as intermediary between the company and the debenture holders. The trustees are the legally recognized managers of the funds and representative of the debenture holders. The trustee not only represents the interest of the debenture holders but also serve for administrative ease and convenience. As the financial institution will now deal with the trustees only, and the trustees represents the interests of the debenture holders, the debenture holders deal with the company through the trustees.

Abstract: In the current constantly advancing technological world, stakeholders are doing their best to ensure that their respective companies remain highly successful in delivering quality products and services. To be precise, top company stakeholders are fighting tooth and nail to aid in implementation of technologies that promote their competitiveness in the global market. On this sense, this report focuses on the implementation of quality technological innovations in the day-to-day operations of Libya's oil companies. To be specific, major emphasis has been laid on the need to adopt management information systems (MIS) and play a significant role in bringing in a positive impact on user competency at Libya's oil companies (Otman&Karlberg 2007). This study begins by introducing the research topic and analyzing the current operations in Libya's oil companies. It further analyzes the fundamentals of management information systems.

Abstract: This paper examines the leadership controversy in the Anglican Church Diocese of Harare and evaluates the extent to which the exigencies of power impacted upon this conflict. This study is necessitated by the fact that the Anglican Church Province of Central Africa has been affected by an unprecedented conflict hinged on leadership wrangle and a crisis of legitimacy. This has resulted in the excommunication of Bishop Nolbert Kunonga who had deliberately withdrawn from the Anglican international communion to form the province of Zimbabwe. Key to this dispute was the allegation of gay marriages presumably blessed by the Church of the Province of Central Africa (CPCA) although it appears there were other multifarious factors behind the controversy. Given this background, this paper seeks to present a critical exploration of the cardinal factors at play within the context of the Episcopalian polity and try to link church governance and ecclesiology to the context of the Anglican conflict in Zimbabwe. It should be appreciated that, as the world is setting into the 21st Century and Globalisation becomes inescapable,

Abstract: Computer based information systems that exist in organizations gather and store voluminous data that is a useful resource in supporting management decision making. Enterprise Reporting, which is the focus of this study, provides a means by which these organizations can unify and sift the vast amounts of electronic data available so as to glean insights that are handy in management decision making. This paper aims at finding a solution to the current underutilization of the existing volumes of electronic data through enterprise reporting. The study specifically assessed the status and the challenges of enterprise reporting, and determined appropriate Key Performance Indicators that can be tracked, and how they can be tracked to enhance the use of enterprise reports. Data was collected through the use of interviews, and thematic analysis method was used to analyze the responses obtained. Purposive sampling method was used to get respondents, drawn from business and Information Technology functions of the organization. The study was informed by systems theory, whereby enterprise reporting was regarded a component of a computer based information system of a typical organization. The study anticipated that utilization of electronic data through enterprise reporting can be improved through systematic tracking of Key Performance Indicators related to the factors that negatively influence the use of enterprise reports.Whereas this study was confined to specific company in the soft drinks industry, the findings can be of relevance to a wider group of related organizations. The study has generated an in-depth understanding of the issues related to the use of enterprise reports and anticipated to make a contribution to the existing knowledge on Enterprise Reporting and Business Intelligence in general in various organizations. The findings of the research will therefore help shape policies relating to the use of enterprise reports to facilitate better decision making and consequently better realization of organizational goals.

Abstract: The promotion and improvement in the facilities arrangement and economic productivity/performance of an organization are the sine qua non for its strength of character, resilience, competitive ability, flexibility and profit maximization. The extent to which this is achieved in a typical manufacturing plant is what the study has set out to measure. This paper which is an exercise in manufacturing management takes a cursory look into the synergy between the arrangement of industrial facilities within an industrial layout and economic productivity/performance. It is a performance appraisal/ evaluation of how the placement of materials, machine and men has aided production. The paper examines the role that the optimum placement of equipment, machine, materials, and man power plays at reduction in the cost of production/distribution and ensuring maximum productivity. The Nigerian Bottling Company (NBC) Coca Cola Ilorin has been chosen for the research being a typical manufacturing establishment which arrangement of industrial facilities ideally involves allocation of space and arrangement of equipments. Furthermore, it is one of the few multinationals with longevity in terms of life span in Nigeria having been incorporated since 1951. The methodology of the research is of both primary and secondary sources of data gathering.
