Abstract: Reconstruction of soft tissue defects around the posterior upper trunk and cervico-thoracic spinal regions is a difficult problem to the reconstructive surgeon. The trapezius muscle and myocutaneous flap is a versatile flap allowing for reconstruction of multiple head and neck surgical defects. The trapezius flap is harvested based on the dorsal scapular artery or on the superficial cervical artery based on the orientation of the flap desired and the length of pedicle necessary. Variations in the vascular anatomy of the trapezius muscle flap are uncommon, but when present, such variations......

Abstract: Introduction: Elastography is a newly developed dynamic technique that uses ultrasound to provide an estimation of tissue stiffness by measuring the degree of distortion under the application of an external force. Ultrasound elastography has been applied to differentiate malignant from benign lesions.
Materials and Methods: This study included 53 consecutive patients with thyroid nodules. High resolution ultrasound elastography examination, scoring and further fine needle aspiration cytology was done in all of the cases. Tissue stiffness on ultrasound elastography was scored from on (greatest elastic strain) to five (no strain).......

Abstract: This dissertation explores the critical factors influencing esthetic outcomes in dental implant therapy, focusing on both surgical and prosthetic considerations. Emphasis is placed on soft tissue management, implant positioning, and the role of biomaterials in achieving natural-looking results. A combination of clinical case studies and literature review highlights best practices for optimizing esthetics in the anterior region. The findings underscore the importance of a multidisciplinary approach to meet patient expectations for function and appearance. Ultimately, the study offers guidelines to enhance predictability and success in esthetically demanding implant cases.

Abstract: Acute appendicitis remains the most common cause of emergency abdominal surgery. Despite its relatively straightforward treatment, the diagnosis can often be challenging due to anatomical variations in the position of the vermiform appendix. These variations can result in atypical clinical presentations, potentially delaying diagnosis and increasing morbidity. This study was designed to correlate the anatomical positions of the appendix with clinical presentation and intra-operative.......

Abstract: The values of mass attenuation coefficient for ordinary concrete have been simulated using the
software packages GEANT4 and XCOM for gamma rays whose energies range from 10 keV to 100 MeV. Both
the GEANT4 simulated data, the XCOM simulated data and the theoretical prediction were in agreement. The
total mass attenuation coefficient corresponds to the sum of the mass attenuation coefficients from the individual
interaction processes, namely, the photoelectric effect, the Compton effect and the electron-positron pair
production. The result......

Abstract: The long-term success of a fixed partial denture depends on its occlusion. Dental occlusion is the culmination of several components, which include the teeth, the periodontium, the tongue and the supporting oral tissues. The main question that arises is whether the patient’s oral condition or state is good enough to receive a fixed partial denture. In this article, we are going to discuss occlusion in fixed partial dentures, their evolution, concepts, occlusal interferences and treatment.

Abstract: A collision tumor occurs when two adjacent but histologically different neoplasms coexist in the same organ without any mixing. The ovary is rarely affected (<1%) by collision tumors, however they have been documented in the gastrointestinal tract, lung, skin, adrenal glands, central nervous system, lymph nodes, and uterine. Here, we describe a case of a 22-year-old female patient who had both a benign teratoma and mucinous cystadenoma in the same ovary. Since both conditions have a significant impact.....

Abstract: Background- Temporomandibular joint disorders (TMDs) are musculoskeletal and neuromuscular conditions affecting the temporomandibular joint, masticatory muscles, and associated structures. They are often underdiagnosed due to their multifactorial origin, involving stress, bruxism, occlusal imbalances, and postural issues. These disorders can significantly affect quality of life and are often overlooked, especially in populations with limited health awareness. This study aimed to evaluate the prevalence and severity of TMDs among individuals from varying educational.....

Abstract: Foot traumas are prone to infections due to wound contamination.1 We present a rare case of Raoultella ornithinolytica infection following a road traffic accident. A 30-year-old gentleman sustained a right foot injury with an open wound. He was initially given wound care and empirical antibiotics. However, persistent wound infection necessitated surgical exploration, which showed retained rubber fragments. Microbiological analysis identified Raoultella ornithinolytica, an environmental Gram-negative bacillus, as the causative agent. Two pus samples from different sites grew the same organism, confirming the diagnosis. A third sample, collected postoperatively from a.......
