Title | : | Serial Communication Protocol Conversion and Circular Buffer Implementation in FPGA using Verilog |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Madhulika Sharma || Puneet Maheshwari || Pravin Fatnani || Preet Jain |
Abstract: Raja Ramanna Centre for Advanced Technology (RRCAT) has two synchrotron radiation sources, Indus-1 and Indus-2. Microtron is the common injector to both the machines. A new, FPGA based, control system architecture is planned in which it supervises and monitors different subsystems present for the operation of Microtron with the help of Equipment Control Modules (ECMs). At present some subsystems communicate with operator console directly over RS232 interface such as the 'Tesla Meter' and the 'Temperature Scanner'. For modularity, those subsystems must be brought over RS485 interface and with unified pre-defined custom protocol for communication. In this paper monitoring of the Tesla Meter is proposed. An ECM communicates with Tesla Meter over RS32 interface and with an operator console over RS485 interface. Digital logic is designed in Verilog HDL and implemented in FPGA for RS232 and RS485 communication controllers, respectively. A protocol conversion unit between Tesla Meter and ECM is also implemented. For more feature, there is a need to capture data and store it for offline data analysis. Therefore, a circular buffer is also designed and simulated to review the history data from the ECM. The work has been completed using ModelSim XE and Xilinx ISE 8.2i softwares.

Abstract: Currently, in the whole world, enormous electric energy is consumed by the street lights, which are automatically turn on when it becomes dark and automatically turn off when it becomes bright. This is the huge waste of energy in the whole world and should be changed. This paper discusses an intelligent streetlight energy-saving system based on power line communication technology with RTOS. Here we are going to implement the intelligent streetlight energy saving system based on PLC (Power Line Communication) Technology and RTOS. From PC, we are controlling the Street Lights through microcontroller via PLC. Microcontroller will be placed in each street light. ON & OFF signal for each Street light will be given from PC

Title | : | A Generic Randomization Framework Architecture for Test Execution in Automated Testing Of SoC |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Subinoy Das || Surendra Shamanna |
Abstract: Conventional directed tests lack the flexibility to cover different variations of test configurations. To overcome the problem and obtain better coverage, randomization is adopted. Generic randomization framework for test execution in automated testing of SoC is effective for generating real time stimulus that covers variations in test configurations such as different functional modes, register configurations, and network data packets. It provides a way to capture the state of the DUT (Device Under Test) at randomly generated parameter configurations. It prevents the selection bias and also accidental bias. It eradicates the origin of bias and provides better bug fixation in automated testing of SoC in post-silicon validation.

Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Mr. Harsha Mario Akano || Mr. V.Satyanarayana |
Abstract: In modern day communication semiconductor technology has created a revolution both in performance and portability of a system. Years of studies on biological system indicates that the surface of the human brain has been scratched in its technology, and implementing the artificial brain could make wonders in computing world that has never been imagined. Since brain is complex structure it is evident and convenient to begin with the basic building blocks. This paper presents a new approach towards synthesizable VHDL implementation of a single neuron model in VLSI.

Title | : | Design A Square Microstrip Patch Antenna for S-Band Application |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | N.Mohamed Sabidha Banu || Dr.M.Ramkumar Prabhu || U.T.Sasikala |
Abstract: In recent years there is a need for more compact antennas due to rapid decrease in size of personal communication devices. This paperdeals with the problem of size and performance of antenna. This paper presents design and simulation of a square micro strip patch antenna at 2.6 GHz for S- Band communications that provides a radiation pattern along a wide angle of beam and achieves a good gain. The square micro strip patch antenna was analyzed using Ansoft/Ansys HFSS. The proposed inset feed square patch antenna provide good Resonant Frequency, Return Loss, VSWR, Radiation Pattern and the antenna Gain.

Title | : | Vehicles Parking System Using RFID Concept |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Shivendra Singh || Shivjee Rai || Vikash Dubey || Mr. Shailendra Kumar Mishr |
Abstract: RFID based vehicles parking technique uses micro controller with sensing circuits which sense entry and outgoing of the vehicles. In this technique the RFID card is swiped with the permission of vehicle's parking owner. The RFID card which are given by the parking owners will be recharged by using the two push switches i.e. SW1 and SW2. When the vehicles enter in the parking system the money will automatically be reduced from the RFID card and it displays on the screen. By using the H bridge concept we operate the entry and exit. In this H bridge concept DC motors are used for the operation of entry and exit boom.The DC motors operate clock wise and anticlock wise as per the program.When the vehicles enter in the parking system the space available in the parking system reduce and vice versa.A standard power supply of 5 volt is given for the operation.An LCD displays all the activities of the parking system.

Title | : | Hull Monitoring System for Submarine |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | K. Yashwanthi Mala || N. Samba Murthy || Dr. M. Kamaraju |
Abstract: In ancient time, submarines are definitely in cigar-shaped. Their layout in beginning submarines looks noticeable often known as "teardrop hull". The hydrodynamic drag is decreased whenever underwater, but it reduces the sea-keeping abilities and improves pull while surfaced. Because the restrictions of the propulsion techniques in very beginning submarines powered them to manage surfaced most of the time, their own hull models were a compromise. Mainly because of the slower submerged speeds of those subs, commonly well below 18 km/h, the improved drag for submerged journey was acceptable.

Title | : | Online Signature Verification Using Vector Quantization and Hidden Markov Model |
Country | : | Iran |
Authors | : | Behrouz Vaseghi || Somayeh Hashemi |
Abstract: In this paper an on-line signature verification system, using vector quantization and Hidden Markov
Model (VQ-HMM) is presented. After the signature acquisition, a Chebichef filter is used for noise reduction,
and size and phase normalization is performed using Fourier transform. Each signature is segmented and mean
velocity, acceleration and pressure are used as extracted features. K-means clustering is used for generation a
codebook and VQ generates a code word for each signature. These code words are used as observation vectors
in training and recognition phase. HMM models are trained using Baum Welch algorithm. In the verification
phase, the forward algorithm is used. The Threshold used in the verification phase is a function of the minimum
probability in training phase. Equal Error Rate obtained from this system is 14%.

Title | : | Image Denoising using TWIST Method |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Midhila.N.M || Beulah Hemalatha |
Abstract: Most advancement in image de-noising algorithms are involving relatively poor numbers of patches and exploiting its similarity. These patch-based methods are completely based on matching of patches and their performance is restricted by the ability to dependably find suitably parallel patches. As number of patches grows, studies show that a point of retreating returns is reached where the performance enhancement due to more patches is counteracting by the lower possibility of discovery sufficiently close similarity.
