Abstract: The design and development of a smart monitoring and controlling system for household electrical appliances in real time is implemented. The system principally monitors electrical parameters of household appliances such as voltage and current and subsequently calculates the power consumed. The novelty of this system is the implementation of the controlling mechanism of appliances in different ways. The developed system is a low-cost and flexible in operation and thus can save electricity expense of the consumers. The prototype has been extensively tested in real-life situations and experimental results are very encouraging

Abstract: In cognitive radio adhoc networks, licensed users are known as primary users and unlicensed users are secondary users. The unlicensed users need to access the spectrum of licensed users with negligible interference to primary and other secondary users. Hence proper power transmission control is important to ensure interference free transmission. Location awareness is also helpful for concurrent transmission and reception region where secondary and primary users can coexists. In this research paper we examined spectrum sharing state without spectrum sensing of fixed............

Abstract: The article consists of a novel compact disc patch antenna with S-shaped slot. It is proposed that it operates on multiband covering the applications in WiMAX, WLAN, X-bands and ITU of frequency. The multiband behavior of proposed antenna with a wide band (6.091-7.27) is achieved, mainly due to the appropriate placing of two shorting pins, S-shaped slots on the circular disc patch and the material of the substrate used. The designed antenna operates at resonating frequencies of 2.63 GHz, 3.12 GHz, 4.52 GHz, 6.68 GHz and 8.32 GHz respectively...........

Abstract: Portable real-time Electrocardiogram (ECG) monitoring is a prominent technology enabling early diagnosis and increased ability of prevention of cardiovascular diseases. However, the ECG signal suffers from Power Line Interference (PLI) which corrupts the biomedical recordings. Low power and high speed filtering of the ECG signal is essential to eliminate the PLI and make the monitoring device portable. The Multiply-Accumulator (MAC) based FIR (Finite Impulse Response) filer is well suited for low power and high speed applications.............

Abstract: Air pollution attracts extensive attention globally due to its critical impacts on human life. Monitoring systems providing real-time micro-level pollution information have been developed to provide authorities with data to mitigate these impacts. However current systems are usually application-specific with fixed hardware and software configurations. They are inconvenient in maintenance, infeasible in reconfiguration, and expandable in sensing capabilities.............

Abstract: Electric Power demand has increased substantially while the expansion of power generation and transmission systems has been severely limited due to scarce resources and environmental restrictions. As a result, some transmission lines are heavily loaded and the system stability becomes a power transfer-limiting factor. This has resulted in a search for opportunities to increase the transmission line capacity of existing lines. With the use of series capacitors for compensating part of the inductive reactance of long transmission lines normally increases the transmission line capacity............
