Abstract: The paper attempted to review trends which had existed with respected to various determinants of human development in India. For such a purpose, authors extracted relevant statistics in context with economic, education, health, and gender dimensions of human development from the World Bank's depository. Extracted statistics followed conceptual frameworks as designed by various international bodies such as the International Labour Organisation (ILO), the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), the United Nations Population Division (UNPD), the United Nations Statistical Division (UNSD), et cetera in order to arrange statistical and quantitative information on these particular dimensions. After tabulating and analysing statistics, these trends became apparent. It was evident that some determinants exhibited increasing trends, whereas others exhibited decreasing trends. Statistics also rendered gender gaps in context with some of the determinants. It endeavoured to make an appropriate conclusion at the end recording certain implications yielding positive and negative impacts on human development.

Abstract: Environmental ethics actually attempts to block or resist the web of anthropocentrism (man centered ethics). Anthropocentrism claims human mastery over the nature and so instead of that it voices in favor of non-anthropocentrism where the concept of environmental justice is established by way of paying equal values to all natural communities. In this regard, various environmental theories in the name of biocentrism, eco-centrism, Cosmo-centrism, deep ecology, shallow ecology have been developed. The present paper is an attempt to explain deep ecological movement is an extreme form of non-anthropocentrism and it may be thought of as the ultimate destination of environmental ethics. Deep ecology invites man-nature relationship. It tries to build bridge between man and nature and thereby claims our love and respect to nature.

Abstract: Stress does not always have a negative effect, because sometimes it can have an effect on helping and stimulating the individual to behave positively. Stress in writing the thesis can also be positive and negative. Positive stress makes students become passionate in writing the thesis, to be motivated to write a better thesis. Negative stress makes the students become lazy in writing the thesis, loss of motivation, postpone the thesis writing and some even not to finish it. There is a very significant relationship between self-efficacy with the stress in completing the thesis. This result is proved by the correlation coefficient of rxy = 0,464; p < 0.050. This means that the higher the self-efficacy, then this will reduce the stress in completing the individual's thesis. On the contrary, the lower the self-efficacy is then this will increase the stress in completing the individual's thesis. Based on the research result conducted on the students of the Faculty of Psychology, University of Medan Area, the suggested hypothesis is accepted.

Abstract: Widows the world over suffer marginalization and discrimination. Sexuality is one of the areas in which widows are discriminated. A global survey on the sexual situation of widows reveals that there is a general infringement on widows‟ sexuality in many traditions and cultures. This is because most cultures have a patriarchal view of sexuality. Hence, the powerlessness of many widows to exercise real choice in many subsequent relationships and vulnerability to male deception manifested in sexual harassment and related exploitations. Retrogressive and inhuman cultural practices that widows have to undergo and the general sexual situation depict gender power play. As a result many governmental organizations and non-governmental organizations and individuals have risen to the occasion to facilitate.............
