Abstract: This article examined the colaological functions of folksongs in the Ogun festival of Ekitiland, with particular attention to Ire-Ekiti, where Ogun is ritually remembered as Ogun Onire, the heroic deity of iron, warfare, roads, technology, justice, and protective power.
