Abstract: Background In recent years, significant advancements in anesthesiology have led to better healthcare services and a reduction in surgical complications.1 While much research has been conducted on the practical application of anesthesia, little attention has been given to patient satisfaction.2 According to recent reports, only 22% of anesthesiologists provide post-anesthesia visits on a daily or weekly basis. However, studies show that hospitals that offer post-anesthesia visits tend to have higher patient numbers, indicating the importance of this service. Anesthesiologists who.....

Abstract: The essential bone cyst is a benign tumor in children, preferentially affecting the upper end of the humerus and femur. The localization at the level of the calcaneus is rare. The objective of this work is to highlight the diagnostic and therapeutic problems of this localization. We present a case of an essential bone cyst of the calcaneus in an 18-year-old patient who experienced unilateral left talalgia, progressing gradually over one month. A standard radiography and a CT scan showed an appearance favoring an essential bone cyst. The treatment consisted of curettage and filling with autograft harvested from the iliac crest. The histopathological study confirmed the diagnosis.

Abstract: Prosthodontics is a specialized field within dentistry dedicated to the restoration and maintenance of oral function, comfort, aesthetics, and overall health. This is achieved through the replacement of lost teeth or the restoration of natural teeth and craniofacial tissues using biocompatible materials. By addressing the functional and aesthetic deficits caused by tooth loss or damage, prosthodontics plays a critical role in enhancing patients' quality of life. On the other hand, "preventive dentistry" encompasses a range of practices and strategies designed to prevent oral health.....

Abstract: Superior vena cava (SVC) injury is a rare but life-threatening complication during the insertion of central venous catheters, especially in elderly patients with multiple comorbidities. We report a case of an 81-year-old woman with a complex medical history, including diabetes mellitus, hypertension, dyslipidemia, and end-stage renal disease (ESRD), who suffered an SVC injury during the placement of a PermCath for hemodialysis. The patient was initially admitted with fever and altered sensorium, requiring urgent dialysis. A femoral catheter was initially used, but a more permanent solution was sought. During the placement of the PermCath, the patient developed hypotension an.....

Abstract: Ureteral stents or double J stents are mainly used for effective drainage from kidney to urinary bladder. Complications include stent migration, encrustation and infection among others. Forgotten stents for longer periods pose significant challenges to urologists as they require multiple procedures to remove them completely. We present a case of neglected stent for 6 years in a 35-yr old female, which developed encrustation over its entire length, 6cm stone in bladder engulfing its lower end while stones were present over its upper end. In our case, the patient was .....

Abstract: This study investigates patient satisfaction perceptions in occupational health clinics, based on the SERVPERF model and structural equation modeling (PLS-SEM). The research employed a quantitative approach applied to 154 participants through a structured questionnaire using a 7-point Likert scale, distributed to the human resources departments of companies located in Greater Vitória, Espírito Santo State, Brazil. Results indicated that factors such as tangibility, reliability, responsiveness, and assurance positively influence patient satisfaction, whereas empathy had no significant effect......

Abstract: Introduction: chronic obstructive pulmonary disease associated with exposure to wood smoke (copd-l) is part of 30% of the etiology of this entity. We know that copd-l has different characteristics compared to the association with tobacco. There is little worldwide experience in the use of bronchodilators and inhaled steroids in patients with this disease. Currently, the high risk of patients with copd-l is the main cause of exacerbations and shortterm cardiovascular outcome is the cause of increased morbidity and mortality. Triple therapy is currently a treatment used in patients with copd-t with excellent clinical and symptomatic benefits. Objective: to desc.....

Abstract: Background: The knee joint is highly susceptible to injuries, particularly from sports and trauma, making Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) a valuable tool for diagnosing musculoskeletal disorders due to its excellent soft tissue contrast and multiplanar capabilities. The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is the most frequently injured and reconstructed ligament in the knee, often sustaining damage alongside other structures such as meniscal and collateral ligaments. MRI effectively identifies these associated injuries, although diagnosing meniscal tears can be particularly difficult when the ACL is also injured, complicating accurate assessment and treatment planning......

Abstract: Background: Ergonomics aims to optimize work environments to align with individual physical capabilities, particularly in healthcare settings where chronic low back pain is prevalent among professionals like dentists. This study investigates the effects of ergonomic adjustments combined with conventional physiotherapy on a 30-year-old female dentist suffering from chronic low back pain. Method: The patient underwent an initial treatment phase focusing on stretching and strengthening exercises, followed by a three-week period of ergonomic interventions targeting her workplace environment. Pain intensity, functional status, and quality of life were assessed using the Numerical Pain Rating Scale, Oswestry Disability Index, and WHOQOL-BREF questionnaire......

Abstract: Swallowed fish bones are a common ENT emergency we come across at the outpatient department of otorhinolaryngology. Persistent sharp pain in the throat following eating fish is felt by the patient to indicate that a fish bone has stuck in. Accidental ingestion of fish bone and its impaction in the pharynx is very common among the fish-eating communities in rural areas of the southern part of telangana, India, where rivers, ponds, and lakes are found.

Abstract: Background:Following tooth extraction, alveolar ridge resorption, particularly in the mandible, is a chronic, progressive process that can extend beyond the alveolar ridge in severe cases. Research indicates that despite its dense structure, the mandibular ridge is highly susceptible to this type of resorption. This study aimed to evaluate mandibular ridge resorption following complete denture therapy over a six-month to one-year period, assessing changes at the masticatory centre and mental foramen. Differences between patients with complete dentures and those without were examined to determine whether denture fabrication impacts ridge resorption......

Abstract: Spinal anaesthesia is the most commonly used technique for lower abdominal and lower limb surgeries as it is very economical and easy to administer. However, postoperative pain control is a major problem because spinal anesthesia using only local anesthetics is associated with relatively short duration of action, and thus early analgesic intervention is needed in the postoperative period.

Abstract: Propofol is the most commonly used agent for inducing general anaesthesia for patients undergoing surgery under GA. It's chemical composition has long chain fatty acids, which cause the patient to experience a burning, aching, searing pain at local site of injection, rendering discomfort to the patient. Ondansetron being a 5-HT3 serotonin receptor antagonist usually used for preventing nausea and vomiting, also has sodium channel blocking action on peripheral pain receptors. Lignocaine is an amide type local anaesthetic used for local anaesthesia. It acts by causing nerve blockade and stabilizing the neuronal membranes by inhibiting ionic fluxes needed to initiate and conduct a nerve impulse. Acts on sodium channels located on the internal surface of nerve cell membranes.
