Abstract: Background: The role of parental presence during paediatric dental treatment has long been debated among dental professionals. Historically, many paediatric dentists excluded parents from the operatory, under the assumption that such separation fostered a stronger patient–dentist relationship and facilitated treatment. More recent evidence, however, suggests that parental presence may alleviate children’s anxiety, improve cooperation, and reduce reliance on pharmacological interventions for anxiety management. In contrast, other studies have reported no......

Abstract: Background: Spinal anaesthesia is widely used for lower abdominal, lower limb and perineal surgeries because of its rapid onset, reliability and cost effectiveness. However, administration of intrathecal local anaesthetic as a single bolus dose may cause sudden sympathetic blockade resulting in haemodynamic instability. Fractionated intrathecal administration of local anaesthetic has been proposed to produce a gradual onset of block with improved haemodynamic stability and prolonged analgesia. Materials and Methods This hospital-based prospective cross-sectional study included 90 patients aged 18–60 years belonging.....

Abstract: Effective management of postoperative pain remains a cornerstone of perioperative care, particularly in patients undergoing lower limb and lower abdominal surgeries. Inadequately controlled pain can lead to delayed recovery, increased opioid consumption, higher risk of chronic pain syndromes, and patient dissatisfaction. Therefore, anesthesiologists continuously explore strategies to prolong the duration of spinal anesthesia and reduce reliance on postoperative.......

Abstract: Background: The need to maintain oral hygiene is one of the integral pillars of dental health and hygiene, and the challenge of ensuring effective brushing techniques and practices is quite a task. Ineffective oral hygiene is likely to cause various periodontal and dental infections such as caries. Although spinal anesthesia is at the center of analgesia in various surgeries credited to simplicity and cost-effectiveness, there is a need to have a comparable system for home-based oral hygiene. The objective of the project is to design an IoT-based smart toothbrush.......

Abstract: Synovial sarcoma is a rare malignant soft tissue tumor that most commonly arises in the extremities and predominantly metastasizes to the lungs. Pleural involvement is exceptionally uncommon, and true pleural metastasis from an extremity synovial sarcoma is extremely rare. - We report a 54-year-old man previously treated in 2004 for synovial sarcoma of the left leg with neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by limb amputation. After a disease-free interval of nearly twenty years, he presented with persistent left basithoracic pain. Chest CT revealed a necrotic pleural mass with pleural effusion, and biopsy confirmed metastatic synovial sarcoma. The course was rapidly complicated by massive hemoptysis leading to death.......

Abstract: Background: Overweight and obesity are rapidly increasing in countries like India. The prevalence of overweight increased from 9.7 % before 2001 to 13.9 % in studies reported after 2010. Obesity contributes to an overall inflammatory condition through its metabolic and immune parameters, thereby increasing susceptibility to periodontal disease. Periodontal disease is one of the most common chronic inflammatory condition. The rising prevalence of obesity has resulted in an increased burden from several major diseases, notably diabetes with recent evidence.......

Abstract: In order to eradicate the majority of the pathogenic bacteria that are present in the canals, root canal treatment intends to clean, shape, and fill the endodontic space in three dimensions. Inconsistencies in the shape of the root canal are a consequence of many of the challenges encountered during therapy. The continual existence of infection due to a missing canal or insufficient removal of bacteria and necrotic pulp remains during instrumentation........

Abstract: Background: Hypertensive disorders complicate approximately 5–10% of all pregnancies and remain a leading cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality worldwide. Early onset preeclampsia, defined as preeclampsia manifesting before 34 weeks of gestation, carries a disproportionately higher risk of adverse outcomes for both mother and fetus compared with late onset disease. Data from the Indian subcontinent, particularly from southern India, remain limited. The present study was undertaken to evaluate the spectrum of maternal and fetal outcomes in women diagnosed with early onset preeclampsia at a tertiary care centre........

Abstract: Background: Intrauterine fetal demise (IUFD) remains a significant obstetric complication contributing substantially to perinatal mortality worldwide. In developing nations like India, the burden of stillbirth is disproportionately high owing to limited access to quality antenatal care, delayed referrals, and prevalent maternal comorbidities. Identifying the modifiable and non-modifiable risk factors associated with IUFD is essential for developing targeted preventive strategies. This study aimed to evaluate the maternal and fetal risk factors associated with intrauterine fetal demise and to determine the management outcomes and maternal complications in a tertiary care hospital setting........
