Abstract: The need for a cultural rebirth is most pressing in Africa at the moment. This is because much of what used to be the cherished African culture has been bastardized by alien values foisted upon the people through the agents of modernization of which the modern mass media are paramount. This article argues that the trend could be reversed through integrating local programme content like folklore into broadcasting and giving it the needed emphasis. The paper uses analytical format to argue its case, borrowing heavily from the folklore of the Etsakos in Edo State and the Igalas in Kogi State, Nigeria, written in vernacular with its translation. Abstract: Soil has influenced progression of civilization in many regions because it supports food production. Growth in world population has been met by intensification of soil utilization which in turn has caused diverse changes in physical, biological and chemical properties of soil resource. In Nyakach Sub-county in western Kenya intensified agricultural production and soil degradation have proceeded hand-in-hand. This area portrays a mismatch between agricultural production and soil quality. Efforts to curb soil degradation in the area have not yielded the desired results. Abstract: This study aims to find out and analyze and find: First, the essence that underlies law enforcement in combating narcotics crime; Second, the legal function of combating narcotics crimes, Third, the effectiveness of law enforcement in combating narcotics crime in South Sulawesi.The type of research used is a juridical-sociological research method or researcher who examines the applicable legal provisions and what happens in the community. The nature of the study is descriptive analytical. The location of the study was carried out in South Sulawesi as many as 24 districts/cities. The consideration is that South Sulawesi is the province with the highest level of Narcotics Crime in Indonesia outside Java.

Abstract: Background: Alcohol dependency is a disorder which affects not merely the Persons with Alcohol Dependence Syndrome (PWADS) but the members of the family / care givers as well. Design: This study was conducted on 20 PWADSs and their Care Givers (CGs). This paper focuses on the issues like problems in alcohol consumption and assesses the confidence of PWADS to abstain from alcohol. The study also confines its analysis in the area of family interaction pattern, quality of life, family burden, family coping pattern and co- dependency pattern in the CGs. Further an attempt is made to analyze the correlation between the problem in alcohol abuse and family interaction pattern, burden, quality of life, coping skill, co-dependency outcome variables. Abstract: Indigenous crafts are mainly a small scale production with some particular skill and knowledge. India is rich in diverse crafts and culture. North-East India is also recognized by its different beautiful indigenous handicrafts. Handicrafts are the traditional crafts which are made by hand or by some small tools. These crafts are still practised within the rural communities by generation to generation. These are weaving, pottery making, bamboo and cane crafts, goldsmith etc. Mahatma Gandhi also gave importance on handicrafts.
