Abstract: With the recent quest across African continent for good governance in a democratic setting and development in a transcultural society, the need to examine the mode of leadership becomes important. Sustainable and strong democracy is dependent on the existence of well-organized and functioning political parties. The institution remains a crucial actor in bringing together diverse interests, recruits and present candidates, and develops competing policy proposals that provide people with a choice. In a democracy world over and Nigeria in particular there is no substitute for open competition between political parties. The objective of the paper is therefore to examine the roles of opposition political parties in Nigeria and its role in sustaining the democratic development in the country. The research..........

Abstract: Legitimacy is the belief that a rule, institution, or leader has the right to govern. It is a judgment by an individual about the rightfulness of a hierarchy between rule or ruler and its subject and about the subordinate‟s obligations toward the rule or ruler. The task of this paper therefore is to re-examine the reactions/belief of the citizens of Nigeria state towards the system of governance seen in Nigeria today using the political theories of Thomas Hobbes as a benchmark for assessing that. It is the opinion of this paper that Nigerian state is presently shifting to the level of the state of nature where life is brutish, nasty, short and that the citizens have lost partial (if not total) interest in the social......

Abstract: Rural- urban migration is one of the major causes of urbanization and is considered as the chief mechanism by which the world‟s urbanization trends have evolved. Many factors influence migration from the rural areas to the cities. Unskilled workers move in search of manual labour positions that are not available in rural areas. Similarly, educated workers may migrate because their human capital is better rewarded in cities. Inadequate investment and high population growth in rural areas can increase pressure on land and other resources, creating a labour surplus that drives migration........

Abstract: Women are vital human resource and play a significant role in agricultural and allied sectors undertaking both on-farm and off- farm activities. Yet their contribution has not been recognized and they are considered as 'invisible member of family'. Considering this, the present study has been conducted to analysis the constraints faced by rural women in home activities and decision making. A total of 360 working and non-working women were sampled from Patna district of Bihar state. The selected respondents were interviewed personally. Lack of decision-making power, poor contact, lack of knowledge and skill and their illiteracy also hindered their progress. Non working women perform all un-mechanized agricultural tasks and perform multiple tasks, which add more burdens to them. There is still a need to enhance women's autonomy and their role in decision making at household for the development in Indian society..

Abstract: Kenya is endowed with numerous aquatic resources with aquaculture potential. However, the ever increasing population is not in tandem with the rate of job creation hence slow economic growth and development. Farmers in suitable areas are turning into fish farming as a way of producing high quality food either for their families or for the market, and as a way of earning extra income. Sustainability of pond fish farming is in line with Millennium Development Goal number 1 which calls for reduction of poverty in the world by 50 percent by the year 2015 and also in the government's agenda for National Development. The study sought to examine the influence of the project beneficiary's capacity building on sustainability of fish farming projects in Matungulu Sub-County.......
