Abstract: This research presents a study for the prediction of the behavior of bottom loaded continuous deep beams (CDB) numerically by using finite element modeling (FEM). ABAQUS 2017 finite element software program is used for simulation the CDB. The results of FEM are calibrated and validated with experimental data by Farag A. (1999) [18]. A parametric study using the calibrated model is used to cover more parameters for predicting the behavior of bottom loaded continuous deep beams with openings. The results of FEM show that the increasing of ultimate capacity of bottom loaded continuous deep beams depends on position of web openings and percentage of either horizontal or vertical web reinforcement ratio. In addition, the vertical web reinforcement ratio is more efficient than horizontal web reinforcement ratio. Further, it observed from the results that, additional reinforcement around...........

Abstract: Internship is a period of time in which students can gain work experience related to what they have learned in their study programme. Debre Berhan University introduced internship programme to provide students with a smooth transition from the academic world to the working environment. The main objective of this research was to investigate the challenges facing internship programme for engineering students as a learning experience. This study was a descriptive research with the target population being all intern students,
their lecturers, internship coordinator and intern company supervisors. Purposive sampling was used in selecting the sample for students..........

Abstract: Maharashtra is gifted with many historical monuments which represents it's tradition and culture. These monuments are of national important for safeguarding the history of Maharashtra and will also help in development and promotion of tourism. Many such monuments are in the form of forts which are now deteriorated due to lack of conservation. It is of due importance to conserve these forts in order to save them from ruining completely. A case study was conducted on Bhudargad fort which is situated in Kolhapur district of Maharashtra to study it's current scenario and the conservation work that is being carried out on the fort. A checklist was prepared to make the conservation work more organized which will be required before the conservation work and for future maintenance.

Abstract: Electrical discharge machining (EDM) is one of the earliest non-traditional machining processes. EDM process is based on thermoelectric energy between the work piece and an electrode. Amongst the various machining processes EDM is one of the most attractive alternatives for the industry due to its attractive attribute of not non-contact of tool and workpiece that leads to very little or no force exert in the tool and work piece. Electrical discharge machining is a process for shaping hard metals and forming deep complex shaped holes by spark erosion in all............

Abstract: Computational fluid dynamic software ANSYS Fluent 15.0 is used to predict the physical parameters on the external surface of a vehicle. The simulation of the wind tunnel experiments using the above CFD package would be carried out. To study the aerodynamic influence of vehicle segments are considered as threebox form passenger car Hyundai model. As this model provided with the extremities in the design of vehicle category in summarizes these results in a broader sense to understand the aerodynamics of such profile. A wind tunnel experiments consists of physically testing the model in a simulated environment. It is a closed environment in which air is blown across the model at a constant velocity. As the air passes over the vehicle, it follows the streamlines pattern present on the body. This causes a change in pressure and velocity characteristics across the model. By studying the pressure and velocity variations across the model, the drag and lift coefficient could be predicted...

Abstract: Jacket-type offshore platforms play an important role in oil and gas industry in shallow and intermediate water depths. The reliability and cost are the most concerned problems in the design, manufacture and installation. In order to design reliable and high cost-benefit platforms, optimization technique is extremely important. Importance of optimization of such important and costly structures increased in the recent years specially with lowering in oil and gas prices. In this paper, a new topologically optimized shape of a standard jacket platform located in the Gulf of Suez is investigated under seismic loads by using proposed automated method. The seismic loading is considered because the Gulf of Suez is considered seismically active zone. A finite element linear time history analysis........

Abstract: This paper presents closed form buckling analysis of rectangular thin plates. It minimizes the total potential energy functional with respect to deflection function and obtained the Euler-Bernoulli equation of equilibrium of forces for the plate. Using split-deflection method, the equilibrium equation was uncoupled into two separate equations. The function satisfying each of the two equations was determined. Exact solution of Euler-Bernoulli governing equation for the plate was obtained as a product of the functions. Nine distinct deflection functions for plates were obtained after satisfying nine different boundary conditions. The paper went further to obtain the formula.......
