Title | : | A Study To Assess the Effectiveness of Self Instructional Module on Knowledge Regarding The Selected Care of Pre-Eclampsia Patient Among Nurses in Selected Hospitals of Vidarbha Region |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Ms.DiptiShukla |
Abstract: Effectiveness of Self Instructional Module on knowledge regarding the selected care of pre-eclampsia patient among nurses. Background: Pre-eclampsia mothers are more dependent on nurses to meet their basic needs than other Antenatal mothers. It is syndrome of hypertension and proteinuria, is a major cause of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality. To minimize mortality and morbidity, it is important to identify cases of pre-eclampsia, to provide efficent and effecticve nursing care to them.........

Title | : | Burden and Coping Methods among Care Givers of Patients with Chronic Mental Illness (Schizophrenia & Bpad) |
Country | : | India |
Authors | : | Jeeva Christopher || Sheeba Susan Chandy || Suja Kurian |
Abstract: The care givers of patient's with Schizophrenia and Bipolar disorders experience considerable burden while caring for their patients. They have to develop different coping strategies to deal with this burden. Caregiver burden refers to a high level of stress that may be experienced by people who are caring for another person with some kind of illness. A person caring for someone with a chronic illness may experience stress in the form of financial strain, management of person's symptoms, dealing with crisis, the loss of intimacy (Tull, 2008). Perlick&Rosenheck (2007) in New York studied 500 caregivers of adults with schizophrenia to identify the caregivers at risk and with poor health in relation to care giving and stress. The caregivers comprised 3 groups: burdened, effective, and stigmatized. High burden care givers reported more physical health problems, depressive symptoms, health risk behaviour, health service use, and less social support than less burden care givers........

Abstract: Aim of the study is to assess the existing facility for the transitional care and necessity of formulation of institutional transitional care strategies. Background: In a hospital set up addressing the needs of the ICU patients during transition and developing strategies for transitional care and implementing the same by nurses who play a crucial role. Care is planned based on individual patient needs. It is also recommended that the patients are adequately prepared for the change to facilitate the transitional care. Knowledge about transitional needs, empowerment and patient-education seems to be important issues for facilitating transitions among ICU nurses...............
